Spring Surf Fishing Jekyll Island During Solar Eclipse

April 8th 2024 brought the last dollar eclipse we'll see anywhere near here for quite a number of years, so we figured it made sense to do something awesome while watching. So we got our approved eclipse glasses and headed down to Jekyll Island to see if the fishing would be affected by the celestial event. We were not disappointed!

It was an absolute fatty! Biggest in quite a while. I totally thought it was a red when it was first coming out of the waves

nice whiting there. i fished the cliffs during the eclipse. i also caught two hugh whitings and 6 good sized croakers. cool video.
