I love the early morning when sun has just come up. The birds are busy and singing, butterflies, and squirrels are chasing each other on the power lines, from tree to tree. They dont come in my yard though. I am so sorry you fell and broke your fingers. Your garden looks beautiful already. Take care.

Oh, NO! I'm sorry about your fingers. I'm disabled and gardening is a whole extra level of hard with physical limitations. I love that you're out there anyway and sharing it with us! Thank you!

When you have an injury it makes you realize how you take things for granted. And being disabled is on a whole different level. When I was working I hired a disabled assistant. She opened my eyes to limitations and what she would do to combat them. Finding work arounds has helped me. Like I now use the inside of my elbow and bring my arm in like a clamp when I need two hands. 😁 I'm sending loving thoughts your way working in the garden when it is hard! 🥰

@@ButterfliesNBirds Aww! Thank you! That was really sweet. Yeah, I agree about workarounds. I have 5 arthritis grabbers in my garden to pick stuff up. I have all my beds elevated to waist height since I can't bend. All my containers are on top of buckets which are on top of those gym scooters from elementary school ;'D so I can move them. And of course drip irrigation so I don't have to carry around a watering can. It's become my favorite hobby, as I can go out for 15 minutes here or 10 minutes there as I feel up to it. Not to mention it's so peaceful and stuff. Anyway, that was long, but I hope you have a speedy recovery!

I love what you have to make gardening possible for you! I am like you ... gardening is peaceful for me too. I enjoy the birds, anoles (lizards), bugs, and butterflies. There is always something new each day. 🌞

So sorry about your injury. I also have one. I had to have surgery on my foot so I can't garden for a while. So disappointing! If you garden in South Texas, the only time to garden is early morning. Salvia is also my favorite plant. I just bought two new varieties that I hope will do well. I just showed my husband your trellises so he can build some for my garden!

Oh no! I hope you can heal quickly from your foot surgery!!!🥰 When it starts to get hot and humid (which will probably be this month) I also do most of my gardening in the early morning. I just love my trellises - and securing them to cattle fence poles really stabilizes them. I purchased the trellises from home depot, so they aren't high end. We had a tropical storm a couple years ago and the trellis held up but the metal stakes we used bent, so we knew we needed to go to the cattle fence poles. Good luck if you decide to put in some!

Sorry you tripped.and broke your fingers. I fell a few years back and cracked my teeth bruised my face and arm. The pavement was uneven and I didn't see it. Hope you feel better soon. Looks like your hubby is a big help . Love your videos.

So sorry about your fingers! I hope they heal soon! I have two blooms and other buds on the Cardinal Climbers I planted. I heard you say they don't bloom until August. I'm thrilled to see theme though. The seeds are Renee's Garden. Maybe this is an anomaly. I have some vines that are six feet now.

Thank you for your healing wishes! I'm excited about your cardinal climbers. Last spring we had a few blooms too, but the bulk of the blooms come in late August down here. They are wonderful growers.

What I have done with the new plants is I put scat cat that I ordered off of Amazon and it’s little hard plastic spiky little mats that you Can secure with like a hook that it comes with or you can get extra hooks to keep it secure in the ground around the base of each plant .. or bird spikes work excellent also .. I got the plastic orange spikes. It looks scary and very pointed but it does not deter the birds just the squirrels or anything else that may come in the night and try to dig up stuff. …, i’ordered quite a few packs and I just put it all the way around each new plant at the base. .. I even put a couple inside big flowerpots if there’s any space to do so because I’ve seen they jump up and want to get in a flowerpot. .. if you were to put these bird spikes on a fence line, it would definitely deter the birds from getting near it but it works perfect on the ground around things … i’m so sorry you got hurt.. hope the best for you❤️

Thank you for the scat cat suggestion! I looked it up right away on Amazon. This is exactly what I need! Thanks so much for this information and how you use it. 😊 And thank you for your well wishes!

Sorry to hear about your hand any idea how long you have to wear that splint? You know I like all times of my day to be in my garden, seems like something to offer any time of day. I love seeing the chameleons and other lizards they seem to enjoy all the little homes I’ve made for them. You should cover those seeds with chicken wire or some sort of screen until they are established

I'm not sure yet concerning the removable cast. I go back in a week for more x-rays to rule out surgery. I'm like you as it seems I am out in the garden at all times during the day. Especially in the springtime because the weather is so fantastic! You are right - I should protect the seedlings but I haven't yet. 😕
