So far this spring we have talked a lot about fishing sand and fishing rock but we have not discussed weed fishing. Weeds are certainly the primary cover in many lake. Even though the weeds may be relatively short and insignificant this time of year walleyes will definitely use them. This video is all about how to find and catch walleyes when spring walleye fishing. I incorporate a lot of side imaging to find both good weeds and walleyes relating to them. Thanks for watching and I hope this video helps you catch more walleyes this spring.

My second time leaving a comment on KZbin ever and it’s to thank Tom for his videos. I’ve been a lowrance guy for 25 years and cause of Tom I opted for a helix si mega cause I was in need of a new graph. Best thing I’ve done in awhile for my fishing. Once again thanks Tom for your tutorials while fishing on the helix. Much appreciated

Muskie fishing Madison chain last week found pods of walleye in little sand pockets in large weedbeds, several places, just 5-10ft patches of sand within the weeds in 5ft of water. Each one had a handful of fish in it, tried dropping back and pitching a jig but they weren't having it.

By far the best and most informational videos on KZbin. Because of watching your videos I was able to catch a limit on opener and gain a ton more confidence with using and understanding my humminbird. Thank you! How would you break down a really big lake that has a ton of awesome rock structure? And is it easy to spot fish in rocks?
@TomBoley

Really big water with alot of rock start by looking for the biggest pieces of structure in the lake. Biggest point. Biggest hump... Then find the biggest best rock on the tip.

Like Mille Lacs in other words! It was a great bite Friday into Saturday by garrison but after snow and rain and cooled water temps it became tougher. Warming temps this week should put them in munch mode. Great video as always hope you get to the big pond soon for another video stay safe and keep the lines tight

Hey Tom thank you for all the videos. I'm wondering if you could go over some crank baits? Size, shapes, colors, etc. I'm new to fishing for walleye outside throwing a pickeral rig off the dock and I wouldn't mind trying some crank baits along with jigs.

I love your comment of letting over 20” go. What are your thoughts on walleye coming out of 25-35ft of water! Will they live if released? I fish the Missouri River a lot and many times we have to fish that deep to find eyes!
