Hi Steele, your absolutely right. Self taught requires you to be continuous everyday and it is really hard! I started December 4th 2021 and I am still teaching myself every single day. I work full time so the most I am able to put in per day is 2 hours to 3 hours. On my days off i tend to invest 3 to 6 hours per day if I am lucky. This path requires lots of self discipline to follow a schedule as best as possible. You'll have days you'll want to quit. You'll have days you just can't because life gets in the way. I started off on web development but later decided to focus on full stack because I want to be able to create a complete CRUD app. My focus is React and Django along side Tailwind.

I've been doing research on these tech careers cuz there's so many videos out there that glamorize the programming field so much and how people successfully self taught themselves and did so many interviews and eventually got into FAANG companies and such. at the beginning I thought (like im pretty sure many others have) wow this field seems very intellectually reputable. u can work up to a high salary and it can also earn you social prestige. eventually tho I found out that biochem and international relations were more of my thing. theres _nothing_ wrong with wanting to pursue CS if you genuinely want to do it, that is. im just saying don't pretend that its the best field for u, _just_ because the majority of people are also following it and glamorizing it. same with anything else in life. listen to _urself_ , not others, when it comes to the final say in ur life. _you_ know urself better than anyone

Does anyone have a recommendation relating to the bonus option? Im taking colts class now on Udemy. Id like to find a program that can get me a job once I get better at programming without having to go through an entire bootcamp. Any suggestions would help. Thanks!

Colt, be HONEST! Your program has "job guarantee" ONLY for those who pass an exam at the end of the program. So it has a "job guarantee" ONLY for those that your staff deem capable to get a job .. brilliant! :) The only way to have a real "job guarantee" is to do a strict selection at entrance, based not only on CV but also on some kind of pre-work, possibly a pre-course. But very few if any company will do that, as it severely limits the number of students that will enroll and pay for your bootcamp. There is a reason why coding is a job that is so well paid and in high demand: the vast majority of people is "physiologically unable" to learn programming at the level needed to be a professional software developer

I agree. I tried couple times to pass their interviews - it looks like it gets harder so I gave up and paid before I got a job.
