Ja just compare it to other recent games when the Boks won from exactly such a lineout in the last 10 minutes but Libbok failed to perform when it really counted. The last goal kick was a second chance for Libbok to redeem himself and they showd how Rassie was not happy in the box, shouting and walking away from the desk. Rassie didn't want Libbok to have that pressure on him as we all know how Libbok struggles in such occasions, I don't think that was part of the plan and the captain is under the spotlight here too. We shake our head at the Boks and congratulate the Pumas, that's all.

They have a great "come from behind" mentality, but they haven't yet developed the ability to stay "switched on" when they have a comfortable lead. Losing is not a bad thing, it helps the Coaches and team to focus. The fans have been enjoying victory after victory, Argentina are not a weak team just ask Nz and Australia. Rassie made changes and it was important to do that, Argentina won by 1 point with a full Argentine squad on home soil with heat and humidity, good for them. They will now come to SA and face a full Bok squad and we will see if they can pull it off again. I doubt it.

Couldn't put your finger on the issue, as it was multifaceted. Think one of our first three tries was due to us playing well. The other two looked more like a confused Argentina. Kriel and Am played well individually, less so together. Mapimpi looked his age, but also was given no real ball. Van Staden was great at the breakdown for turn over threat, but seemed lackluster otherwise. I'm not sure if it was him, or a result of him trying to cover for someone else. Wiese looked tired earlier than when he was replaced. BJD was not nearly equal to PSDT in this game. Fassi was alright. Some great moments, but he was getting angry with some Argentina players riling him up. He was also often the only chaser. Pollard struggled making some tackles. Moerat... Well he played kinda how we expect. Jordan Hendrickse may have just made a case to replace Libbock in the squad. The line out was odd. No idea who was to blame. Overall the team didn't play like a team. Very clunky, flat footed, disjointed and lacked direction. It was just a very off game all around. Well done to Argentina, they caused a lot of the above issues.

Just pointing out from the weekend he is performing under pressure, and given Sacha has dropped his utility back label for a flyhalf, and in my opinion has leapfrogged Libbock after recent performances, a case has been made to bring one player in and possibly drop another in future. Not suggesting they are like for like.

Now we know how valuable Nienaber was to to Boks defense strength. If Rassie wanted to give Mannie a chance, he could have perhaps started him instead of bringing him late as we all know Mannie is not a clutch player in the dying minutes of the game. Jordan. You are wrong with your assessment on Fassi. He looks good individually, but somehow when he starts we are broken down at will. He cannot manage our defence. Against the ABs at Ellis Park we conceded many tries. Then Willie comes in at Cape Town and we do not concede a single try. Fassi was main variable there. Fassi has to go down to Bok A and learn how to manage the defence before he gets another crack for the Springboks.

Missed a touch kick to put us on their 5 meter line and that was the last chance we had until he missed the clutch kick. Can’t rely on him so he shouldn’t be playing in a team like that. This loss has shown Rassie and us some pointers. Most importantly Moeraat should not even be in the squad never mind as captain. Manie is not a good penalty taker and should rather start and not come on as an impact player. he has now missed at least wo touch kicks following a penalty, costly as well as his miss. Lukanyo is not a 12 and we missed Damien D'Allende. Ox played a magnificent game, our props were good, Nortje was solid but our lineouts were poor. Marx is better as an impact player and we missed Bongi starting. Siya, PSDT, Kolbe and players like Faf, RG, Mostert were all missed. Onto Nelspruit for a win for the RWC and to cap Eben's record Springbok appearances.

Unfortunately "The Genius" got it wrong. Libbok has been away the whole tournament. He comes back, gets thrown into the mix when the Boks are trailing Argentina, a team not to underestimate. Big mistake. Libbok should have started if he was too play at all. If found to be faltering, bring on Pollard to regain composure and territorial advantage. A costly mistake considering NZ and Australia have both lost to the Pumas in this tournament.

I think we needed a wake up because quite honestly the last 2 games against the all blacks we were making to many mistakes. To many handling errors. I personally feel that since the world Cup we have been very lucky because we have not been playing our best especially because of discipline and handling errors. I am not sold on our new coaching. It seems like many people are overlooking the fact that we are no longer the number one team in the world, and even if we win against the Pumas in South Africa, we still won't be. For me, that's the biggest takeaway from this loss. Everyone seems to think it’s easy to reclaim the top spot. As for Manie, he's not a Springbok fly-half. He might fit better as a fullback or in another position, but definitely not at 10. You can only make the most of his skills if there’s a reliable kicker on the team, much like when Percy played. I understand that any team can lose on a given day, but not in this manner-especially when you follow your game plan but fail to execute the kicks.

By your logic Manie should never be brought on if the game is tight cause he has no responsibility in winning the game. But the issue is regardless of what happened in the game before the last kick that kick should have been slotted if it was too make the lead twenty points or two points. He cannot, at this point, be relied on and this isn't karma or some such it's about winning games. And we win close games when he isn't playing.

If Mannie scored that kick it was going to be a classic South African "smash & grab" we didn't deserve to win that match, we'd already blown it by then - there was just no leadership on the field, our decision making was horrendous.

Whilst it wasn't their best performance, Test Match Rugby is about big moments and fine margins, especially away from home. Boks fought back very well in 2nd half and I felt enough was done to win the game. So what were the big moments? 1) after a period of dominance, penalty won. find touch to set up maul or backline setplay. By this time, Eben had found some success at line out time so it was better. missing a simple touch kick, I'd say, was arguably a bigger blunder for Manie than the final penalty. 2) 2nd big moment, obvious, kick to posts. Manie has not shown that he can be a reliable 80% kicker. His line speed and contestible kicking was great. But you cannot NOT find touch when the team has earned it through graft, and not convert easy penalties. It's also worth mentioning, his defense is suspect (67% tackle success in RWC, even less in URC). With his 77kg frame, Nienaber ended up using him as a 'rush defender' with Siya and PSDT either side of him so he can put pressure on opposing backline, but he has cover through loose forwards as they know he won't be adequate cover (Dobson even proved this in an analysis video he did, look it up) Now I ask, if you're unreliable in front of posts, make comical errors in crucial moments such as failing to find touch, cannot defend or tackle, scores very few tries, and is one-dimensional i.e only really suitable to one role (cannot be used at Centre, wing, or fullback, for club nor country), what's the damn point in having him there???

It is not a matter of ability, but of the temperament, meaning management of nerves. I am not sure it can be corrected in Manie’s case. If it can, they’d better get going with it, because so many matches at highest level are won nor lost by a single, crucial kick. They need to go over.

Guys the bomb squad moniker only applies when have your more experienced or best pack on the bench. In this case only 3 of the 6 were top line players while the others needed to build experience. Which is fine but won’t give the same impact coming on as a proper bomb squad which has been marx, ox’ Koch, rg, and eskom in the past. Last night the Boks played more traditional putting the best team (arguably except for Eben) as the starting team and we dropped off in the Subs. It’s fine… we should have won it before the noobs and mannie came on. Eben put the team on his back and almost got them through but to me the missed touchline kick was the real nail in the coffin. 37 degree heat is soul destroying when you trying to pull yourself back into a game that you already threw away once and then the fresh oke comes on and rather than play moneyball and just finding a decent touch he goes for the high risk kick… and throws away all that energy that was invested in winning the pen.

I don't want to say that the team got a reality check, but who ever decides on the game plan sure did. My only question to the coaching staff would be, why if you take it to penalties, and not play our usual game plan, do you put Manie up for kicking? Have we not established that we have a BMT issue with kicks to goal? Or have we only realised it now, again? I give it to the Los Pumas, they played great. Some flaws, again with an English ref, but lets not say that, he cost us the game, because TBH, we were out played. Our defence sucked!

This hate on Mannie (who we forget earned points toward us winning the WC) goes a LOT deeper in affecting him as a player and a man. How many of US have messed up when the pressure was on. The BOKS WILL WIN this championship and all will be well. Nobody wants to win every game, it would be boring and take the Joy away from the wins. Rassie needs to stop thinking he knows it all. His Captain is not the future as in every game he was the "boss," but he failed to keep his guys together. Manie cannot handle pressure. Arends gets too many cards and is brainless at times. The Pumas is never easy in their home games. Many work to be done in the backline.

The team did the work for the team to be in that position to win the game with a kick, so in my opinion, Manie lost it for the Boks. Similar to how the Sharks won their match, down to a kick that one of the kickers needed to make.

Manie can kick. he's just got his head mixed up and he's overthinking things now. He needs to play and he needs to be backed - he will come right if we manage the situation well. if we don't - well - he will probably go win a few championships in France or something. Anyway - Sasha was a naughty boy and I am betting that, even if he was ready to play, Rassie would exclude him as part of disciplinary action. Still leaves us with Pollard and Manie as our only 10s. so let's make sure we play a proper game on Saturday - lead by 20-30 come the final minutes ;-)

Please be honest man... Libbok did lose us that game. We can't keep defending players who is not good enough for the Springbokke. Get Hedrikse in the squad in place of Manie. Manie from 30m out in front of the poles and he misses. Hedrikse 59m out and the Sharks won.
