Hi ) I just began in fishing with nymph from middle april and i right then stopped fishing other way. i like so much what's hapening then for 3 months i earned money to buy some days ago the minimum to begin in "making" nymphs... It seems i will just have to buy the copper (in wich size please ?) Your vidéo is a very good one, one of the Best i ever seen ! I don't speak well your language but everything is quite understundable from France ;-) Thank You Very Much for this sharing Fario

Do you fish with an indicator or do you wait to see your leader twitch? I've only fished with indicators.

No,never use an indicator, you'll develop better skills if you can manage without them.

Extremely catching nymph, i always have not less than 50 of them in the box. It's an all season jolly, it only changes by the size depending on the weather, microclimate and season conditions. I tie a lot on a #14 hook with tungsten bead from 2,5 to 3.3, this way is really usefull, it allows you to alternate the various weights according to the currents and the flow of the river in which you have to fish. Same as for #12 hook with beads from 3 to 4 and so on. I also tie some without copper wire and use them in those days in which the fish is extremely selective, they work better but after a capture the nymph is likely to be thrown away. :) The more you simply tie, the more you capture. Enjoy fishing and nature everyone.

Instead of buying tungsten beads for more depth... can lead wire be used instead?

Yeah, man this is a pattern which works all over the world and would certainly increase my catch rate since I use dry flies 99% of the time, lol

Love to fish dries, unfortunately hatches have declined on my local rivers in recent years,so now I catch 90% on nymphs, this one in particular.

I hear you there - apart from when large olives or mayfly are hatching off this nymph covers all the bases right through the year.

Thanks for the vid - this type of fly makes it easier for folks to get into fly tying. A vice and just a few materials and they can catch fish. Add in a hares ear and a woolly bugger and you don't need anything else for the rest of your life. I've tied these for years with a peacock thorax. Really effective - especially @ size 18. This tie is easier and faster. Do you find any difference between your version and the peacock version as far as catch rates?

@@springerspanielful Spent much of the summer fishing with my 11 year old grandson. I give him three flys at the start of the day. If he wants to fish more he needs to tie his own. This is his favorite fly to tie. He's quite the nymph fisherman.

Great fly, I've been nymphing for years but during that time I've come up with a lot of patterns of my own and I have 4 but specifically 2 that outfish the pheasant 9 times out of 10. So your claim is very faulty but I guess true if you don't have your own that work better.

I might have to disagree with you. This may be the best nymph ever designed. But in my opinion, the best fly ever designed period is the Adams dry fly. It represents no one single may fly or caddis fly or hatch in particular, while at the same time mimicking damn near every may fly and caddis fly and hatch there is.
