I own the Springfield Armory Mil-Spec 1911 and like the Ronin, it’s a great shooter, great frame to slide fit, match grade barrel with no movement and hammer forged slide and frame.

Hi guys love your videos, these SA Ronin’s that you’ve featured seem very well put together, I agree that for $850 msrp don’t think you can do better, although I haven’t been able to get my hands on one yet i do own other SA 1911 Operators & i love how good they are, someone commented on a comparison with the Ruger 1911’s i own (2) Ruger commanders in 9mm & 45acp both with alloy frames & they are in the similar price range & although I’ve had no problems with either in any way whatsoever, i do believe Sr. Is right that the SA Ronin is probably a bit better & tighter fit. I can’t wait till i can get my hands on one or two, i would like the 4.25 in 9mm & the 5” in 45acp also looking forward to seeing the 10mm, thanks for the effort you both put into making these videos for us 1911 lovers (all firearms lovers)

Found a very lightly used model just like this same caliber traded my sig 45 1911 for it (that was a good gun too) but always wanted a good LW Commander and im very pleased with it and thank god Springfield was doing research IT HAS A RAMPED BARREL and yes this gun is put together tightly this matches up good with my government model Ronin

What's the difference in a Springfield Armory Ronin Operator 45 cal and a Springfield Armory Ronin 45 cal that has only Ronin written on slide but not Operator? Is there two different ones? Thanks. Following up my question from yesterday to you guy's. Dave from Springfield Armory told me there is no difference between Ronin and Ronin Operator written on side of slide. When gun came out they used the name Operator than discontinued using the name Operator in 2021. Thought I would share information to everyone in case they were having the same question.

I saw they announced a 10mm version of the Ronin, and of course there is no Commander size version of it. Commander 10mms are the redheaded stepchildren of the 1911 family.

I think the higher end 1911’s malfunction more often than the mid range do to their tight tolerances. I’ve had two Springfield 1911’s. Both had zero malfunctions.

So Far so Good! This Springfield Armory has been excellent. Springfield Armory 1911’s have been great as of the last 10 years IMO. I have the garrison, Operator, and the Ronins, all of these 1911‘s have been excellent and I would use them in self-defense or as an EDC. The website has it advertised as a forged steel slide and frame. Do you know if they changed that? Or is it really aluminum?

Look at the weight…. That is the clue. They are all Forged Aluminum Alloy Frames. So they are the “Light Weights” for concealed carry and they are Good to Go! All of them weigh about 30 Oz in Aluminum Frame. If they were Steel they would come in at about 35 to about 36 ounces in Commander Size…. 42 ounces Government Size. Lots of information out there saying that 10MM is effective against Bears! That seems to be a fact from lots of encounters I have read. I have also read 2 times a 9mm was effective after 6 or 7 rounds and a 45ACP after 3 rounds. The 10MM Kills were one, or two rounds fired. The size of the Bears differ as does the type of Bear. I have fired a 10MM Springfield Armory and Kimber & Les Baer….. they have all been Excellent! I highly recommend them. As far as recoil is concerned it is less then a 357 Magnum, and a bunch less then a 44 Magnum. When compared to a 1911 in 45ACP it is about 25 to 30% more recoil but relatively easy to control in a full-size 1911 pistol. In my opinion, if you want more power, a 10mm 1911 is not to be missed. I Love all 3 that I own and we have Videos up on our Channel. Best….. B9USA Sr.

Most of my shooting will be playing at the range Protecting my home or being forced to deal with a bear is something I would try to avoid if possible. I’ve heard they make bear rounds for .45acp.

@@r8tr273 I would use a 45ACP 1911 for all the things you mention. Do some research on what ammo to use. I have found that 230 grain bullets feed much more reliably in my almost 15 1911 Pistols. That’s from all of our experience. Make sure you shoot 100 rounds of your Hollowpoint ammo of choice to make sure it runs reliably for you. That’s all I have, you take care Sir. 🤠👍🇺🇸⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Really? We both EDC 1911 Commanders, soooo even if you and I are from the Marines, I am going to strongly disagree with you. I have picked up an FNX 45 and just can’t buy it over my beloved Glock 21’s which are in the same category. Do you EDC that FNX 45???? (Everyday Carry) I doubt it very much because it is a big heavy awkward firearm, in my opinion of course.
