springtime at the cottage (story 75)

My absolute favorite flowers have popped out here in the garden at the cottage and it's bringing me so much joy!! I've been grateful for quiet little moments of sunshine in nature this week, nestled in between many moments of rain.
In between photo shoots, I've worked really hard to stop, look around me, and take advantage of every beautiful moment. Because time is flying ... problems are always here ... but so much beauty is always waiting to be enjoyed. I just have to stop and be present.

Kate, I was so happy to see a new video from you! I guess I'm a "regular" now, because I immediately remembered the Vanderbilt estate from the last time you were there. It IS wonderful to stroll around the grounds of such opulent places. There were several in Baltimore I used to visit and enjoyed them so much. Do you happen to know the name of the paint (color) you used on the dresser in your living room? I LOVE that color. If you don't remember, no worries. Take your time in that garden of yours. As I've aged, I can feel my body struggling to keep up with my imagination. You are younger than me, but it's always important to be kind to yourself when (in your eyes) you fall short of your goals. I've always wanted a backyard private garden sanctuary....would be wonderful. We have had more rain than sun her in Southcentral Pennsylvania, so I feel your pain LOL. Hang in there, girl, and enjoy that darling little Charlie every single day! 😍

I enjoy your observations, like how the light affects the plants and landscape. Today, I got tired while edging and sweeping my front yard, but before going in I pushed my mower out, thinking I’d mow after lunch. Well, there was a rain, that turned into a drenching rain. I scurried out to push the mower back to my covered storage, I smiled thinking it’s good to take life and our tasks in stride!

Hello Kate!! WOW! What a amazing place to do a Photo Shoot!!! 💚💚💚💚. I would never want to leave!! That Park you found was so refreshing!! I REALLY miss the Day Trips that my Husband and I used to be able to take! Over a year ago, he got Virtgo and we had to Sell Our Car. We used to go to different Cities, pack lunches and explore the back roads. Now Life is very different! I just had Surgery myself 4 weeks ago and THANKFULLY it's Not Cancerous 🙏. Thank you for this lovely footage of where you live and your beautiful Boho cottage. It’s so very tranquil and soothing to watch. You will get your energy back, it can take a little time. You seem like your doing all the right things. I recently had a foot operation and a week later I got a stomach infection which lasted over three weeks, my energy is very low at the moment. I take very short walks near home and know I will be fine in the end just as you will too ❤

Best wishes for your surgery! I have chronic fatigue and my energy levels are always relatively low! It does teach you to prioritise doing what is valuable to you and embrace rest but it is frustrating sometimes! ❤❤❤

Hi Kate. You have your own woodland creatures looking over you. At 13.10 mins behind one of the plants you film is a tree with eyes, a nose and a mouth. Hi Kate! 🙋🏻‍♀️ Thank you for sharing such beautiful scenery with us! From your garden, to trails in the woods, riversides, parks, historic buildings and roadside views - it's all so lovely!!! Seeing the Queen Anne's Lace flowers always reminds me of times spent with my Grandma, my Mom's Mom. She made & sold dried flower arrangements. She traveled around the US and always had tins of sand, cans of spray, gloves and clippers in her trunk. She frequently pulled over to clip some pretty weeds. Some she dried in sand, some she hung over a clothesline to dry and seed puffs she sprayed to keep their ethereal shapes. Good memories!!! 🏞️🛣️💮🌾❤️🫂✨

Mommy guilt here too and that’s because we love them so much❤. Everything is absolutely beautiful and so good for the soul. Here in upstate New York we’re getting all the sunshine and humidity and sure could use some of your rain in the Hudson Valley as this old girl is tired of watering plants so much this early in the season.
