Thanks for spending time discussing measuring and going a little slowly for beginners. Thanks for showing instructions printed to see. ❤️😊

Thank You for giving the option to make plus sized versions. I REALLY appreciate when designers give us ratios or options, so we can do the increases as we like our clothes to fit us. I HATE tight clothes, so I like to customize up 1-2 sizes. I also knit & crochet and joined your FB page. Beautiful shrug you have here; you should be proud!

Thank you so much! You have finally and simply explained the way any shrug is created. Most of the instructions NEVER do that and I have torn my hair out (not to mention hundreds of stitches) trying to figure it out. Also, that's a good tip about adding the border AFTER you put it together. That's another point never covered in any instructions. I have made two shrugs and THOUGHT I could use any stitch but have hesitated only because the directions I've found always make it seem so much harder than it is.

Beautiful! I'm working on one using a bulkier yarn, which of course the changes the look. However, I don't know what I did wrong but the width was too small so I'm just adding to length and turning it around to join. First time making an item is the learning model. Thank you for sharing this with us. Happy New Year!

Very nice! I love "recipes" where you can create many unique pieces from a simple design. One question. When taking body measurements, are you measuring from arm to arm or elbow to elbow with the arms extended straight out to the sides to form a straight line, or with them bent the way they are pictured in your schematic?
@rainbowwarrior2179 жыл бұрын
Patrice Walker Great question! Measure with arms straight out. Thank you! I completely agree and love "recipes" as well :)

Thank you for sharing.. Can any one please advise me, I have made the shrug, using a 5 and a half mm crochet hook. and 8ply wool, unable to get 10ply as I am in Australia. I did a chain from one shoulder to the other as was said in the video, But for some reason under both arms but more towards the back, it is not sitting flat sort of bulked up. Also made another shrug the same but making a chain from one arm to the other but with the same result.. Could anyone suggest what I may be doing wrong or had the same problem.. I really love the shrug and want it to work out.❤️

I want to make this bolera but looking at your written instructions, it doesnt say how many balls of yarn, only the yardage. Can you tell me please, how many balls? I checked on my balls of yarn and it only says 50g per ball. Thanks in advance. :O) Tibby xxx

+Spellbound987 For this small shrug I used 1 skein of yarn which was 170 g for my yarn. If you want to make a larger size shrug you will need at least three times this amount. Hope this helps!

for 60 chains that you started with...what size does that convert to? I would like to make a Medium sized shrug. Thank you Rainbow Warrior! :) xoxox
@rainbowwarrior2179 жыл бұрын
Christine T Huynh HI! :) I'm not exactly sure what size... they best way to check that your shrug will come out to your wanted measurements is to hold up your chains to make sure its the correct width and make it smaller or larger from there! It all depends on your materials and how you crochet so my 60 chains may not be the same length as your 60 chains...

Hi, Rainbow Warrior, I have a question for you. I started making this shrug and I discovered I crochet kind of tight. Should I change the hook size or what. I did use the I hook. Should I go up 1 or 2 sizes?

I made it but the sleeves are very open and way too wide, the length at the back is perfect, any suggestions??
@melanieleesm9 жыл бұрын
Hi there! May I check with you, if the length of this shrug is triple from the length of your shrug in this video, do that mean we are getting a bigger arm hole? Or we decide the size of the arm hole by our self? Sorry to have raise this question as I am totally new in crochet shrug.
@rainbowwarrior2179 жыл бұрын
+Melanie Lee HI :) It depends on how much you seam the sides of your shrug. You can seam a small amount if you want big armholes or you can seam them up to your arm measurements. Here is a picture that shows what I mean: 1.bp.blogspot.com/-Esg-OUoxvZM/U9pohLUGTzI/AAAAAAAABj4/gr9Zo0omPUg/s1600/Shrug+diagram.jpg Hope this helps!

@janethubbell18747 жыл бұрын
Hello There, You don't have your name there so all I can call you is Rainbow:) I am now making your V Shrug and having fun doing so. I just wish you would have said the size you are making. I know you said at the beginning of the video about measurements. I am making these for unknown people. So your size would have given me an approximant measurement. I am guessing this is a medium size? Thank you for the video, and your time.

i have a question, i am following along with your demonstration and your pattern, and it looks you are showing on rows 6 & 7 of written pattern to sc in the v and 1 sc in each stitch between. You are showing 2 sc in the v stitch and one sc in between the v stitch. will doing either or make a difference
@rainbowwarrior2179 жыл бұрын
deborah lipscomb Hi be sure to place 2 sc in the v stitch and 1 sc in between, this way the number of stitches stays the same. I didn't write this out in my pattern and I will be sure to do so now! Happy crocheting :)
