SPRINT 4 TWO.. 5-9-24.. disc brake rotor on lathe..

welp, i finially got the disc brake rotor to fit on the spindle. got it on the lathe to cut the grease seal deeper, so it fits flush. noticed, how out of round the hub was cast. i lathed material out to somewhat, get it true, but its just too out of round. also after removing the studs, found out, its actually what i thought to start with,,, ford car 4 1/2 in bolt pattern, so got to drill in between the studs for chevy 4 3/4 bolt pattern.. more work ahead..

Don't chuck on the OD of that hub. Need use the bearing bores...i.e. the running surfaces. Then true all the features to the bearing bores

i wanted to use the jaws inside where the outer race is, but the jaws were too big, so switched to the outside jaws. i shoved the end of the hub, up against the jaws with the part that a drill bit chuck goes in. found a steel cone in my junk that fit inside the back bearing race and the drill big chuck, fit inside that. it would be a lot steadier, if i had that support, out on the back side, but dont have anything that will rotate, so just used it to get it centered and tight.. i mostly need a flat surface for the lug nut studs, to bottom out on and also so the hub will lay flat when i drill the 5 new holes.. .. tnx for the comments..
