Sprinter Horn Upgrade Install (Updated)

So after watching this, of course I had to go to your site and buy it. *UPDATE* Just installed and it took like 20 minutes to complete. Hardest part was not breaking or cracking the grill clips along the bottom. Everything else was easy-cheessy!!! Thanks for great video Jon!

The factory and the new horns are pile of 💩!!! You should installed 1960-1970's Mercedes Bosch horns instead. The difference in sound is like night and day!

Just got done installing this. Good video, but one small detail is missing (at least on my Sprinter). The original horn harness does not just unplug. There is a locking mechanism that needs to be released. I had to remove the original horn to get at it - no problem, it was just a small bolt, you would never see the gray lock that needs to pop down without removing the original horn. This was on a 2024 Sprinter. Other than that, took about 30 minutes and works great. I had a bit of trepidation removing the grill, but it does come off and go back on easier than one would think.

Another great video. When you cut the end off of the low-pro zip ties, won't it still have a sharp end, just sticking out at an angle? I've found the zip tie cutter "gun" for the normal ties to be practically indispensable... It cuts the end flush with the clamp. Not always easy to reach it into where you need it, but I wish I had bought one much earlier! For the hard to reach ties, I use a box cutter and cut along the clamp to get a flush cut.

Blue wire was 12 volts on my 2020, so I connected the blue wires on top per the included horn installation directions.

i need this horn, for NVC3. Isn't the only difference is the mounting bracket tabs need to be bent 90 degrees?

Jon, I enjoyed seeing this horn upgrade product kit and ordered it right away assuming it would also fit a 2016 Sprinter. Before I open the box however I thought it best to check with you to see if there is going to be any problem or possibly the need for an alternate mounting bracket or wiring connections? Enjoy all your videos!

Just installed in a 23 and the reverse bracket tip was a big help. I did have to tilt the horns to fit inside the emblem and grill plastics. Not sure if that’s a result of the reverse bracket if that protrudes the horns further. Scariest part is forcing the plastic grill clips off. The bottoms especially. I was able to just do the sides and tilt the grill and even with the camera bracket, there’s enough room for Allen and Torx tools. Tip, you have to take out the old horn and use the connector in the back of it that you cannot get to without removing the old horn. Not the couple of connectors out in front of the old horn that will not match the Owl connector. Picked that tip up in another KZbin. Wasn’t obvious to me. The Owl horn is a 100% improvement to the very lame factory horn. Super Bass may be pushing it a bit. It’s not a Mack truck, or that you’d want that but more than enough for every day neighborhood and highway traffic. Sounds like an old school Detroit car horn. The factory horn is outright dangerous. Satisfied.

The horn kit is only plug and play on the 2019+ vans. On your model van you will have to just cut the connectors off and join the wires manually. Its not hard.

BOSS sound. Yes Sprinter horn was the very last thing they thought about and then decided , screw it we're done. Low profile ZIP ties, never knew.

Why not mount the horns without the bracket? They got a metal tab with a hole. Will look cleaner and less parts.
