No, this is Japanese. First: that's a shakuhachi flute in the begining followed by a koto with a shamisen for sure--Japanese instruments. Second, Johto, was based off of Japan. Sprout tower is a reference to traditional japanese architecture (though much was was inspired by the chinese, traditional japan and china had many differences). Third: this track is made on a C Japanese scale.
