During my time as a teacher I shocked parents by telling my students to watch their favourite programme on television. I told the students to choose one programme that they did not enjoy missing, and to build this into their study routine. Despite parents' concern, my attitude was that distractions do not go away. If there is a programme or an activity that is important to the student, they will not focus on learning during the time that they would usually have been doing the other. Building whatever it is into the study routine means that they do not study badly, which is often worse than not studying at all. There is also the importance of hydration during both studying and taking the exam. My suggestions were often considered unorthodox by parents, but they worked. The majority of my students used to fulfil their potential, and many exceeded expectations. My classes usually achieved higher results than those of my colleagues.

A good tip is to avoid studying at night as brain function is only 20%. Before sleeping revise everything you have learned this way you will remember more. Take out some time to plan your day according to your goals to be completed. Exercise and eat healthy for a good start on exam day.😊📚

Pretty good suggestions particularly about planning in breaks. Pushing yourself too hard can lead to vapor lock on the brain. What works for me is not to schedule the breaks but to monitor how hard my brain is working. When I find that I'm not paying attention and not retaining anymore I take a break. I find something that I like to do and do that for a while. Things like read a novel just for the story not to learn anything or just take a walk or bike ride. I would be careful about watching movies to supplement learning. Many movies aren't accurate. It's better to watch documentaries about the subject. In those they often try to keep it factual but even then the documentary might be many years old and new information might contradict what the documentary is saying. A fun way to work around this is to watch the documentary to find all the inconsistencies.

I like to correlate images when I actually learn the content. It could be a related thing in the room, such as a poster with somthing cool on it (note, try to avoid connections that go back to the actual material for this, such as a poster with an equation correlated to the question.) connection through a joke, or an object you associate with that memory, in a similar way to heirlooms or meaningful objects. It sounds stupid, but rocks are a nice way to do this. Each one is just ever so slightly different and unique, and just have a different feel to them. Plus, if you have trouble associating notes with them, you could use markings you can make on it. Just make sure you actually pay attention and engage with the topic and don't get caught up in the minor intricacies of the rock. If using rocks is just too weird (I recognize this), doodles work instead. This association is a pretty effective study strategy, as you call back the memory of the subject with the object or doodle, with what was taught in that moment, rather than writing down language we see and use all the time everyday and trying to form understanding of that every time you need to look at your notes, rather than just the instant memory brought on by association. This is a form of memory that has been around for Melania, but we kind of seem to have either forgotten about it, lost the point of it entirely, or overcomplicated things so much that they're not useful in their original ways anymore (modern drawings and photos are subject of some of these problems, where drawing is just seen as a creative hobby and photos are still used for memories to a degree, but now there is so much to it, it is more of a vacuum idea for people who want to take photos of their close ones to keep, or as a delicate and somewhat complicated hobby.)

@uuhbsj2974 жыл бұрын
Would be amazing if they made a video on this.
@w27194 жыл бұрын
This might sound like I am repeating what he said but this works well for me and I always have time left during the exam. 1) Look over what types of questions there are. Find the easy ones you know and do them first. This means that you are completing the majority of the test, since most test usually consists of many easy to medium-level difficulty question and a few harder questions that gives a higher score/grade but requires deeper understanding and therefor more time. Once you have done the majority of the easy to medium questions look at the clock (don't get to stressed) and look at the questions you have left, now figure out how much time you can put on each question and how much time you have left. You might want to prioritize some parts of your explanation and keep other parts short. Time management is important so you can get enough points on the questions you know more about or that gives a higher grade. You also need to make sure you will have time over to check your answers in case you missed something in a question. 2) Kalm :) no seriously you need to try to stay calm when you have the exam, that is why I always take an overview of which questions are on the exam before I start answering so i know what is coming and i don't suddenly go: ... well #¤"& I did not expect this. It will also help you stay in your work/flow/focused mode and not become surprised when an unexpected question pops up. 3) Personally I like to do a mark on questions i am unsure of so when it is time to recheck I know where and how many I have to take look on / needs my imitate attention. Lastly if there is more time left I check everything and then stay seated until the time runs out. Because sometimes suddenly everything will click and you understand that one question you did'nt before since you've now calmed down a bit from the stress the exam might have produced. Itall gets easier if you when you are studying really put in the effort to understand what you don't understand or feel like you are struggling with. Best study advice I can give you is this: Test yourself and be honest if you realist that you don't understand something try to work on that part.then test yourself again. Also don't be afraid of diving deeper into a topic you don't feel like you understand because you'll "waste time" if yo are doing that you are prioritizing quantity over quality. Sorry for any spelling errors.English is not my first language, anyway good luck!hope something here helped

the only point I am against is skimming all the exam questions at the beginning of the exam. I never did this while a student, and still will never do it! theoretically, students know exam formats (how many questions and what type of questions). if the students skims and comes across a really difficult question, this will keep them nervous throughout the whole time. i find it better to go bit by bit.
