Spruce Meadows 'Masters' at Home - Sunday, Series 3

Eric Lamaze and Hickstead are show jumping legends world wide, but they will always have a special place in the heart of Canadians. The pair have won some of the most prestigious competition all over the globe including a gold medal for Canada at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
In November 2011 Hickstead tragically passed away and there was avoid felt world wide. At the 2012 Spruce Meadows 'Masters', a beautiful bronze memorial was unveiled in his memory. It currently stand outside the Canada House at Spruce Meadows.
Eric's journey to the horse of a lifetime wasn't without its challenges. Many ups and downs helped bring the two together. We hope you enjoy our documentary on Eric Lamaze and his climb to the top of the sport.

I had a massive crush on Eric in the 90's. One time I tripped & almost dumped my tray of beer on him lol! EVERYONE deserves second & sometimes multiple chances. Even if a person didn't know about horse's & no matter where a person lived one couldn't escape all the media about Eric's mistakes. I remember feeling terrible for him.. Of course he deserved punishment but whooo he got dragged for filth that would've completely shattered most people. Seeing him be graciously allowed to comeback from his personal issues healthy & back on the green again was beautiful. From the 90's to present, Eric, YOU DID & ARE THAT!!👏👏🥇🏆🎗 So many horses I miss since 1975 but only two forever have my heart & tears😔.. Always bring flowers w me to place half under Hickstead's bronze memorial & the others I place near the bell tower for Big Ben. Gone but never forgotten,,Keep flying high & free boys!!💜🍌🥕🇨🇦🎆
