Nice clear instructions and helpful hints. One thing I'd like to add, if someone uses cotton or wool, don't cut the woven in ends on the back too short as there will be shrinkage. Soak the mug rug, let it dry and then trim those backside bits close to the weave.

Hello from Ukraine! In my country we are weaving tradition belts "Krajka" with same tehnique , " woven into the eye"😊

This was so helpful! I had gotten discouraged by the interlocking in Krokbragd, as well as not being sure which side to start each new weft yarn from. Your directions made it seem do-able. Thank you!

I'm so glad this was helpful! I'm sure i'm breaking the "traditional" rules by doing the edges this way lol, but it just looks so much better for this project so I went for it 😂

I'm not even a weaver, I knit, but that tip for weaving in short ends is life changing

I tried this today for the first time, made a couple errors on the ends where it needed to be adjusted, but mostly only noticeable to me! Love this technique. Great tutorial!

looking at the roving colors on your site, your tuareg colored roving is fantastic. if I didn't have two whole sheeps worth of fleece to be dyed and spun I'd be going gaga for it.

2 questions: does it matter whether number of warp strings are odd or even & can I use graph paper to make my own designs?

I'm having a hard time with the flowers on the edge l have a color piece under and the white background over and trying to turn with the color on edge to complete the flower if that makes any sense lol
@AuthenticMage2 жыл бұрын
Something I’ve learned is that it looks a lot nicer if you change colors in the middle instead of the ends

Can I do this with a thinner yarn?
@lily996542 ай бұрын
Hi, yes you can. I just finished one with wool yarn and it looks awesome. I did have to add a few rows, tho, to make it as long as it is wide.

I love this and just made a couple, but when I took them off the loom the twining edge ends curled up! Is that a sign of beating it down to firmly or too much tension? I'm trying blocking it to see if that will help it be flat, but any advice to not need to do that step would be really appreciated!! I think the yarn I used is just a little thicker than what you used - I used the K/C Nordic yarn that Joann's carried for a little while
@spruceandlinen2 жыл бұрын
Mine curled up a bit as well (but not too bad!), I would definitely try to beat down less to avoid it curling a lot. "Technically" with Krokbragd we should be beating down tightly and not seeing any warp strings, but I like to break the rules and make it work so I just didn't beat it down as tight. You can also try steaming/ironing to help relax everything as well- just be really careful to not burn/melt the yarn!
@suziekew86192 жыл бұрын
I think this is something that tends to happen with Krokbragd, it’s a function of the 3/1 weave structure fighting with the plain weave, especially with it being only one of the plain weave sheds throughout.
@spruceandlinen2 жыл бұрын
@@suziekew8619 Definitely common with boundweave structures!

Would you recommend macramé cord for this?
@spruceandlinen2 жыл бұрын
3mm cotton string should work well! If you’re using rope or cord 2mm might work better, it’s hard to say for sure without trying it.

The little gear button on the bottom right brings up settings, and you can change the playback speed to slow it down !

Not a reasonable or realistic request..you can pause and replay, and adjust your playback speed. She isn't going to reshoot a whole video for one comment like this
