This is exactly what I was missing in some of my early weaving projects. I didn't realize I needed to start in multiple locations....

So glad this helped! You can weave on curves and angles as well (we’ll talk about that in future videos more!) but for classic tapestry you want to keep your rows horizontal

Thank you for the tip on filling those mini gaps that sometimes happen. This is my biggest struggle with traditional tapestry weaving. Also really like that you decided to tackle a more traditional style tapestry for those who might want to try it. It gave me some ideas on how to combine traditional and modern tapestry weaving. And the way you put the weaving in a frame. 😍😍😍 Thank you for all the ideas.

So glad that was helpful for you! Those spots can be tricky! It was fun to try out the more traditional tapestry style- I will say it takes a LOT longer than the more modern style with chunky materials, but still fun!

Thank you Jennel, I have just found your channel and am so glad I did. I was just wanted to do more designs with my weaving and I only make small items to use on cards and mixed media projects. This video was so very helpful and very easy to understand. Thank you so much. :)

I just participated in a beginning tapestry weaving class at the WI Sheep & Wool Festival this weekend. You have filled in SO many gaps that my 3 hr class didn't have time to get to with this video. Thank you SO much! I'm excited to begin weaving tapestry.

what's the size of the wool ease and frame?
@spruceandlinen Жыл бұрын
Wool ease is a medium weight yarn (worsted weight), the frame I think is 5x7.

Can you please remind me where I can find a more detailed explanation of the double warping process?
@spruceandlinen2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for asking this question, because I've just realized I don't have a specific video for that! Double warping just means that instead of one warp string between each notch, there are 2. I will create something soon for this! In the mean time this might help: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mH_Tk2aPi5J4kK8. Don't forget- you can slow down any video by clicking on the gear icon on the video player and changing the playback speed.

Is double warping necessary for landscape tapestry?
@spruceandlinen Жыл бұрын
I would say it depends on the thickness of your weft, if you're using a thicker yarn a single warp would be just fine 😊

What the heck Indian moms are doing it since ages Now I get to know the term of this art😢
@TheKazadoodle Жыл бұрын
Indian moms are not the only ones who have been doing this since ages. Weaving is an ancient art across all civilizations. It's interesting stuff.
