Hello, sir. I have a doubt and was wondering if you could please help. The data that you have are ordinal data and ordinal data's central tendency cannot be mean but it is median so how come you took mean of EP, DLS and ALS to check if they are normally distributed? I just want to understand your method more in detail. Thank you.
@tchimejosh53333 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for these simplified tutorials. I am writing on " Effect of management style on Employee Employee Performance in Post-Covid times'" my question is, could remote work conditions be the FACTOR?
@vendetta5432 жыл бұрын
Just a couple of questions. You used Ordinal Regression because the variables were not normally distributed, however the Dependent Variable (EP) for this dataset was not an Ordinal one since you used the mean, so it was a Scale variable. Would Ordinal Regression work for scale variables like that? Also, should Likert scales really be summed up with means? I thought it was normal to manually sum up the total scores via addition. Apologies for the questions, I’m finishing Masters Thesis and am rather worried.

In my case (done HR analysis prior seeing this video) in addition to EP, DLS, ALS (plus other sections) I had general satisfaction. Prior conducting Ordinal regression it was usefull conducting Spearman's rho. By doing this I could find the most significant trends. I am just saying that if you add all variable and make a MEAN variable you may miss the core changes. Once again, in my case I had extra general satisfaction variable - the main dependant.

Your demonstration is clear and straightforward. However, your response variable is no longer ordinal (since you use the MEAN_RESPONSE). Would you not consider using the MODE_RESPONSE in this case?

If your Likert scale ranges from 1 (Strongly Disagree) to 5 (Strongly Agree): For a positive item, a score of 5 means high agreement and positivity.
