Not every category is competitive. Food is highly competitive because there are a million products out there and barrier to entry is low. Everyone and their dog thinks they can sell a food product. Even really good products fail, its extremely difficult for an investor to judge if a food product will take off. But if you have a good idea in another category & you get a patent on the part of the idea that makes it good, then you potentially have a capitve market, and that's when Kevin knows that his risk is low.

I've never disagreed with him. They have to ground these "entrepreneurs" sometimes. NOTHING is as competitive as food. NOTHING. WalMart tells you that it's $30,000 to get on the top shelf, 2 jars wide, wherever they see fit. Your stuff starts selling. Now you need to produce more and take up more shelf space. Proctor & Gamble takes note. In two weeks they have jarred butter that YOU can't taste the difference in. They go to WalMart and say, We want the endcap and we're delivering these for $1.09 less than that new guy, and get rid of their items. It's presented as a request. WalMart isn't big enough to say no to the conglomerates that make them billions. WalMart buyers make agreements with those guys. They tell entrepreneurs what it's going to be. That's why! Kraft isn't going to allow you to become rich at their expense.

I'm glad that she got out of that negative thinking of food and came back better dealing with foods she loves. I'm glad she was recovering from low-self esteem. Eating healthy to me means eating less if I'm gaining too much weight. Changing a food to taste like something it's not isn't my cup of tea. I can't eat a lot of nuts unless I really chew them up. I love roasted peanuts. I don't want fake nuts or anything that people say are gluten free or vegan or any other supposedly healthy choice. If I'm allergic to something(green beans for some odd reason), I don't eat them. It sounded more like a diet food that taste like crap.
