Just need to remember that this is actual money being offered. He used it properly - what he means is that you would never show up uninvited to a party where people didn't want you (because that would be immensely uncomfortable), you would show up uninvited to a party where everyone is happy to see you (and be surprised and excited that you are there). In other words, Robert making an offer amongst other offers was "crashing the party" and the entrepreneurs started making offers to Lori, making him feel like they weren't interested in him personally. I think with two offers on the table it was slightly rude to not at least acknowledge them and say "thank you for your offers", especially since they went right to Lori and now we trying to convince her. Odd strategy.
