My little Shih Tzu, Penelope does that in her sleep as well, but I always wake her up because I think she's having nightmares. I tell her it's going to be OK and then we cuddle afterwards.

Haden my lil dog also does this. I love it when he starts doing the whimper bark when he is sleeping x) TOO PRECIOUS. Sometimes he even do some running movement.

My 14yo English cocker spaniel Margis(spotty) does that too. Just much louder and he squirms a lot while dreaming. And of course he snores. And it is hilarious when my brother and I go home for the holidays and go to sleep. It takes me a long time to fall asleep, so about an hour in after the lights off the orchestra starts playing. I hear snoring from the first floor- my dad, one of the corners of the 2nd floor -my brother, and then Another corner of the 2nd floor where Margis is snoring as loud as a tractor. Even though it can get annoying and pretty much deprives me of sleep I find that adorable in a way.

My grandmother had a Pekingese as well and he did this every time he slept. As a side thing, he also a rescue and had massive health issues (had to have an eye removed, blind in the other eye, 3 teeth that went in 4 different directions) but we loved that dog for 15 years. He was already at least 4 when she got him.

At least Spudgy is quiet. I have to wake up Mica every time she does this during the night because of how loud she gets (she's a shihtzu/poodle mix). There have been a few times where she starts wagging her tail really hard in her sleep; it's amazing she doesn't wake herself up.

Hahahaha, our Shih Tzu does this too. He will make a little yipping sound like this, and sometimes even move his legs like he's walking. Then he resumes snoring.

My dads cocker spaniel does that. Its soo cute. Though one time she started getting louder and louder and her poor little legs when crazy and her eyes opened just slightly. I work her up and I kid you not she burrowed into me and whimpered. :( I cuddled her for an hour till she stopped shaking.

Now you made me miss my dog who is back at my parent's house :/ She does the same thing at it's so cute when dogs do that. - I know very well though what she's dreaming about: Either chasing a ball or food, since her legs also twitch as if she's running. My guess is any dog that is food-obsessed dreams about some really delicious food xD
