Nice activation, Andy. Congratulations. Would be interested to see sped up footage of the 2M and Dx Commander setup, to see if there are any more practical tips I can glean. Been experimenting with my Buddipole from which I have fashioned a J Pole for 2M. With this and 3 guy lines, this can be up in 10 minutes. The Spiderbeam takes around 20 minutes to deploy (mainly the 2 levels of guy points). Its the far end of a support for the 20m long EFHW with home brewed 49:1 transformer, linked back to a 1:1 choke balun by 0.05⋋ coax, before running to the radio. It works, but the whole setup takes 30-40 minutes. Hence the need to look for quicker / easier old man friendly alternatives! 73 Howard 2E0HWO

I use a battery drill/driver to tighten the bolts on the pole joiner. The poles are 2.5m each with an old parasol base at the foot, held in place with a couple of sandbags filled with 20mm limestone chips. Nothing much to add about the DX commander.

I’m lost watching this video. Really don’t understand what’s going on. Please can you tell me?

Hi and thanks for watching. If you are familiar with amateur radio (that's what this is), this is a radio sport scheme called Parks On The Air (POTA). You set up your radio station in a designated "park" and try and contact as many other radio 'hams' as possible, all in the name of a bit of fun. You get folks talking to you from all over the world when the conditions are right.
