Tottenham and Celtic fan here,while a lot of the Spurs fans online are saying Ange will be gone by Christmas.We know different.I’ve been a Spurs fan since the mid 70s and I think he’s the best manager we’ve had since Bill Nicholson.We should be supporting him not whinging.He’s only a year into a rebuild. klopp,and Ferguson had 5 years grace and look how they turned out.COYS.

Celtic fan here. Ange won't ever tell them to cut out risky passes in defence. Sure it involves risk, but the rewards from playing through a pressing team will far outweigh the risk. It looks to me as if your defence has already adjusted to the tactic. Maybe the fans aren't quite there yet though. I can tell you from experience that Ange will never encourage defenders to "clear their lines". It's just not in his playbook.
@MathewBall2 ай бұрын
That's interesting to hear. My concern is that Ange is stubbornly playing the same system every week with no plan B, and some of his signings are more suited for Scottish football!
@jamesrowe36062 ай бұрын
@@MathewBall Fundamentally, he keeps playing plan A until it works. Maybe Spurs will be the first team he's ever managed where it doesn't work, but I doubt that. Your fans are crying out for his style of football and only those who want something "a bit more pragmatic" will be disappointed.

@@jamesrowe3606 So will Ange ever play 3 at the back?? Or is that against his philosophy?

I heard an interview with an English pundit a while ago who said that some of the panic and negativity is a bit of an English culturally conservative mindset. Interesting.

Some thoughts: Son deserves more credit for that first goal than he is getting; Pickford wasn't dallying about on the ball, he wanted to take two touches of the ball when he should have taken one touch and that was all it took for Son to dispossess him, Son did incredibly well there. Bissouma seems like the sort of player who is best having full responsibility for the midfield, with other players in front or behind him, but not side by side. Loved our football today with 5 attacking midielders, but we do that against a top 10 team and we'll be punished for the lack of defence. You just can't expect the likes of Madders to stifle a team like Aston villa going forward.
@KDM-um7rj2 ай бұрын
Great result! Playing Maddison and Kulusevski together was a great idea. Maddison has stated that he felt very comfortable on the left of the three, combining with Udogie and Odobert. It allowed Kulusevski to play where he wants to, more on the right of centre. Bissouma seemed to dominate the midfield. Van De Ven was excellent as was Son and Romero. An excellent team performance! Tough games to come!

Werner is now backup for Odobert. Yes, blood every youngster at every opportunity; put pressure on that first team; OPTIONS. This will give Ange the ability to mix-n-match; but also the option of hooking players if they are not doing it on the pitch!!!

Left back cover has to be a priority. We don’t have a left back other than Udogie. Udogie & VdV can’t play every game. Davies is def not a left back in Angeball. Spence is better at right back.

It shows that Son and Bissuma aren't the issue, Ange is. Will Ange continue to let them play where it suits them best, he doesn't usually! Son needs to play on the left to cut inside onto his right. Or play Son down the middle where he was best last season. Don't play Son on the far left and have him only cut the ball back from the byline. Bissouma needs the freedom to get forward and run into the spaces to create chances and not play him as a DM.
@LeeHailey-og7wy2 ай бұрын
We win 4-0 and you come out with a negative statement like that
@ianwest70032 ай бұрын
I don't see it as a negative comment. Son is wasted out too wide. I agree that Son is more a left side forward. He needs freedom in playing down that side but is such a team player that he will do exactly as asked. I think he needs to be told to play as he wants. Bissouma played well & scored a cracking goal but if he doesn't want to play as a 6 then that has to happen regularly as you need multiple goals from your box to box midfielder. As for Ange, Kulu & Madders operating in tandem with a more defensive fb invert sounds like an interesting adaptation.

@MathewBall2 ай бұрын
@@benh3443 You are a clown. Son was best cutting inside from the left onto his right foot before Ange was manager. Son hasn't been playing well on the left since Ange took over. Ange has Son further on the left cutting the ball back from the byline, which doesn't suit Son. Under Ange, Son is better suited down the middle! I was proven correct over the first 2 games of this season, Ange needs to play Son in the positions that suit him, not shoehorn Son into his system on the far left of midfield.

Why do I respect Son? ************************ When Son scores, Spurs fans say he scored because the assist was so good. When somebody else fails to score, Spurs fans say he failed because Son’s pass to him was not good enough. In the game between Leicester and Spurs, Son played as a bait, and he did that magnificiently, but Spurs fans were busy blaming Son and Son only, as if they had been desperately waiting for an opportunity to revenge him. I found it amusing that many of them demanded the ‘old’ Son to be sold. Thank you! Please unleash Son, once and for all. In the game between Spurs and Everton, Son played as a striker and scored a brace. It was when I heard Spurs fans shouting ‘Nice one Sonny bla bla’ that I began to aware how rubbish, blatant, and disgusting they had been toward Son since his joining the club. When Spurs fans are asked who the most important player is, they say it’s Maddison, not Son. That Maddison did nothing but stealing somebody else’s freekick to waste it, and playing as if he is the best player in the world who should deserve respect and worship from all the low class people in the world, including Spurs fans who think it’s their honour to serve him. But I have no idea what he is doing in the pitch. Neither do I know why he is in the starting lineup anyway. The reason why Spurs can’t win a title and why Spurs can’t be even in top 4, is the abominable attitude of Spurs fans, of which all the English media who don’t like the asian captain love to double down it. Son didn’t get the contract renewal yet, thanks to Levy’s business oriented brain. So it’s time for Son to leave and let Spurs fans and Levy see Spurs disappear from the list of the teams in EPL. Son wouldn’t do that. His DNA is that of a saint. I hear Spurs fans singing ‘Oh when the Saints (not Spurs) go marching in …’ . I might have been hallucinated but that’s why I respect Son.
