Taking a boat trip from the Hudson River, through the Spuyten Duyvil swing bridge to the Harlem River. The Harlem River is a narrow shipping channel on the northern end of Manhattan Island separating it from the Bronx. The Harlem River exits at Hell Gate, often a treacherous passing due to the numerous conflicting currents and shifting tides from the Harlem River, East River and from the Long a island Sound. See the numerous bridges and learn a little history of the river, which was once dammed and even had a lock at one point.
