Looking awesome. What a beast to work on. Glad you filmed the tear down and rebuild. Now I know the only way I'll get a Spy Hunter is one already restored or you sell this beauty. There's zero chance I'd be able to get one apart and back together on my own!

@@CusiArcade thank you it is definitely probably the hardest game. I’ve had to put back together.

Just picked up a spy hunter cockpit arcade for $1200 in Ohio. Looks beautiful but haven’t plugged it in. Cant wait to work on it as I never thought I’d own one

@@AnthonyPresley-l8f I saw that earlier. I tried to get Charlie from overtime Arcade to buy it looks pretty nice. Awesome pick up. Congratulations.

@ yeah I messaged the minute it was posted as I really wanted it. Would’ve been cool though to see Charlie fix it up though. Only real thing if needs is some new side art as it is a little worn and it needs lots of cleaning. It’s complete and it looks real nice on the inside so who knows what’s going on electronically

Heh, when the cab is in its eventual resting place in the arcade and you can finally enjoy how it’s turned out, this pain will be a distant memory. Was it fun?, probably not. Was it worth the pain?, DEFINITELY! - Awesome work man.

Looking amazing. Great work. Quick question for you Troy, I keep seeing that Space Invaders deluxe in the background. It looks great as well. I am about to start a restoration on one myself. I looked through your videos trying to find where you might have restored yours but didn't see anything. Am I just missing it did you not do one for that arcade?
@troylukans2174Ай бұрын
Unfortunately, space invaders deluxe was before I started making videos and I never really restored it. I just fixed it when I got it. It was just a power supply issue and a cold solder joint on the

What ever happen to the silver strainer you had purchased? Also, in a picture, I saw a person, run wires thru a shaft using a long zip tie and used that to pull the wires thru, and yes I believe when you twisted wires with the drill they became a lot shorter. Looks good Troy, coming along.

@@arcadeerik2603 thank you and I bought the silver strainer after I had already strained the parts for this game

Amateur blacksmith here. I was wondering, when you had such trouble getting the steering-yoke shaft through the red metal hub and then the later assemblies by hammering and then the hydraulic press, whether you might have "upset" the end of the shaft slightly, meaning shortened it and so widened its diameter. A bit of sanding of that end might help, if anyone else winds up in the same situation!
@troylukans2174Ай бұрын
Yes, it did mushroom a little bit. I did grind it down though on the belt sander.

If you just fed a shoe lace down the opening of the black ends then tie the shoe lace to the wire, you can then pull the wire through. Also, untwisting the wires would of given you more length.

@@vancity_5.0 thanks there is a roll pin in the center of the pipe so there is not a lot of room

The holes with the springs on it for steering, get little bushings to prevent wear on the metal. Somebody has them I’ll post a link. As for your main spacers you may be missing, let me know and I can 3D print a set as a contribution to the channel. I have a steering set up and will check if I have four spacers.
@troylukans2174Ай бұрын
@ thank you I appreciate that and I think the spacers are OK. It doesn’t really seem to move in and out at all. I don’t know if these spacers are thicker than what originally there were or what but I don’t know somebody’s had this thing apart and a bunch of different hardware here and there so it’s kind of hard to tell and the instructions kinda suck.
