I had not realized that the amount Judas received to betray Jesus (30 pieces) was a tenth of the amount the perfume Mary poured over Jesus was valued at (300 pieces). It really drives home the difference between Judas' short-sighted greed (1 month's wages) and Mary's extravagant love. What a powerful image! I love how Mary understood what it seems the other disciples missed.
