Alright. So me, I know all about ships. How they steer, float, *and move forward*. First thing, you are going to have to know what tripe, double, and single screw means. A Screw on a ship means the prop/Propeller. Triple Screw: 3 Props on the back of the ship. Ship examples: RMS Titanic, RMS Olympic, HMHS Britannic, Lusitania, SS Edmund Fitzgerald, All modern aircraft carriers, etc. Double Screw: 2 props in the back of the ship. Ship Examples: Modern Cruise Ships, Oil Tankers, Cargo Ships, Destroyers, Battleships, etc. Single Screw: 1 prop in the back or front of the ship. Ship Examples: Lighthouse ship, Coast Guard Cutter, Fishing Boat, Motorboat (Speedboat/Speed demons from WWII), etc. Now that you know what triple screw, double screw, single screw means, now we can get into the knowledgeable stuff that you did a mistake on. So, Liners like *Titanic* *Olympic* and *Britannic*, which are made by the same company: *White Star Line* (known as *Cunard* as of 1934.) Has the same problems as you were having. *One thing I have to clear up: In real life, this problem you are having where you cant get it to steer happens only for big ships like ships that need a triple screw usage. There is a theory (And Conspiracy) that the RMS Olympic (Olympic class liners in the class such as: Olympic, Titanic, Britannic) only collided with the Hawke due to boiler No. 4 not working causing the prop inside the rudder to not spin. This then caused the Hawke to be pulled into the Olympic and a collision that almost ended the construction of the most famous liner: RMS Titanic before it was even completed. *The Fix? Put the big wheal thing on the Stern of your ship, and rotate it onto the stern backing and weld it in. The more you make, the faster your ship will go.* Hope I solved the problem, if it doesn't work, it's because it is a computer simulation. Make sure to like so he sees!

I see that you put some research into this, but a simple solution to this is that Scrap Mechanic doesn’t have true water physics. The only thing that works is buoyancy which is much easier to code than drag, friction, and aerodynamics.

To make the boat move...it’s gonna be pretty expensive but you’ll need at least 4-5 thrusters. They don’t need to be in the water either.

You can build a drill to use on the big square rocks and it gives you stone and some metal so it saves you the pain of killing haybots and making the scrap metal into level 1 metal. The resource collector and the refine bot helps a lot with the process.

The thruster isn’t working because (in real life at least) they are made to work best with low resistance and high speed. On a boat with a propeller, you need to push through water which is dense but you are also using water to propel yourself, so there is more resistance to moving but you make up for that resistance by propelling yourself with something just as dense. Same thing on a jet plane, even though you are propelling yourself with a non dense fluid (yes air is a fluid), you don’t have to push through a dense fluid either. But, if you have a jet propelling something in the water, you have to move in a dense fluid propelled by a non dense fluid. Sorry if this is confusing, I’m not very good at making things make sense lmao.
