Those of you who prefer to always carry a plain edge: have you ever attempted to cut a wet rope, large cable-ties, thoroughly butcher a deer (cutting through cartillage, tendons, etc.), cut baling wire (that has gotten wrapped around a cow's leg), or cut your way out of a tall briar patch (where wounded deer always seem to locate themselves)? I've done all of these with my Benchmade Griptilian combo-edge- and it's never failed me yet. And I totally reject the thought that it is more difficult to sharpen. Have you heard of a diamond rod?? I sharpen the plain-edge part of my knives with a Lansky System, hit the serrations with a diamond rod (if needed), and then strop the plain-edge part. It takes me no more than 10-15 minutes per blade.

I love your videos. It made me fall in love with the Spyderco stretch which I previously had no interest in until you showed me the complete picture. Pictures on knife distribution websites cannot produce the full picture of some knives. Some if them I have love at first sight others I need more information. I appreciate what you do. Keep on doing it. It helps me choose the Spyderco I want because of limited budget. Thank you again so much.

Love Spyderco value series because I’m not afraid to use and abuse them just from the affordability.

That’s a fair price for that steel. I have several knives in similar steels and they’re good users. I expect to pay in the $70-$80 range if it’s D2. I’d rather have a Spyderco in 8CR13MOV or 9CR14 than a generic CRKT.

Thanks for sharing!! These value folders..seems that for $50 you can get a lot more value elsewhere in Chinese made knives these days. Certainly steel at $50 should be D2 or 14c28n? Just seems like no one ever makes note that the value line doesn’t seem that well priced?

I will agree with you... When I got my tenacious as a gift roughly 3 to 4 years ago it was closer to 40 bucks. I was blown away with the quality at the time... Fast forward today there are a ton of quality 40 dollar and under folders. Kershaw has the largest selection... But then you have both Bestech and Civivi new to the game and releasing quality at 45 bucks with D2, vg10, ect.

I agree, but if you are interested in getting into Spyderco, the Value Folders are the way to go.

@@keithkevinken You are so right Kevin, my first Spyderco was a tenacious and I got it as a Christmas gift. It made me rethink what a good pocket knife is.
