I’m one of the 800 brothers😄 I also like red, but I actually wish that it was a little brighter on this one. You are right about the sharpness, it bit me 3 times already in less than a week. Hahaha And you are also absolutely right about the button. I’ll pay for an aftermarket one also. Great sharing!!

I fully agree with your assessment and love of the manix-2. I bought my first S30V version about 7 yrs ago for $72! The second for $80 and the 3rd, an S110V version for $142. I absolutely love them all. It’s my most recommended knife in the over $80 range. It’s just a great knife and they never wear out!

People have to understand how companies make their profit margins! The manix 2 has been around along time and the tooling , R&D, and advertising cost have already been factored into the cost. Newer PRODUCTION versions like the Shaman and Carribbean need to be substantially higher because of the very high cost of bringing them to market from scratch! Nice knife and thanks for video! I'm looking forward to using mine!.

I agree on the prices. I saved for a PM2 and right about the time I had enough money the price went up. I'm glad that I waited and picked up the Knifeworks 204p green G10 version for $13 more instead. I really like that version of the Manix.

When I got the email the night before this release I got upside down standing on my ceiling 20cv red g10 manix2 for under$150!!!!!!!! 7&1/2minutes 800 units not at all surprised. Glad you got yours and thx for review. 80yrs from now the folks on mars will rock’n this model. Agree they need to go with a metal lock release system. Spyderco has that kick arse hardware on their lc200n and h1 line and it’s time to go with that for everything. No,not all blades needs to be lc200n or h1 but the hardware used yes! Time for the nitrogen take over and for my taste let’s get it going in the USA Earth lab.

Yes please. Would be VERY interested in that. I saw on the Spyderco forums someone did a poll for a LW version w/LC200N back in July 2018 with fairly positive feedback. I would prefer g10...

I love both the Manix 2 and the Shaman, and have both. The only thing that draws me to EDC the Manix 2 more is the texture of the grip, i love the grittier texture of the Manix 2! The smooth grip of the Shaman sometimes wants to slip in my hand when pulling it out. Other than that both these knifes are awesome!

This is my 2 Manix!! Sharpest knife outta box. Slicey dicey sent me your way couple weeks ago. Piercer is now my 2 knife I carry and my new work knife. Love the content!! I still need a pm2 stupid price hike.

Beautiful folder, the locking mechanism is more of a "latch" than a switch. I would have a light weight Manix if they were't riveted together, I like to take my folders apart even if they don't need it!

I also don't mind a knife with a little weight to it. Under 6 oz in a folder is fine. It might matter to a backpacker or hiker, but for everybody else it's a non issue.

I have a blurple s110 v Manix on the way and couldn't find any mention of peoples thought on the skeletonized steel liners. my biggest question would be does it effect the weight distribution and possibly rigidity?

I'd love to see a triple header of the Inkosi, XM-18, and SOCOM Elite since they're all heavy duty knives, even though the Microtech is a much lower price bracket.

This is my 1st sprint knife and I’m very happy. They might have pm2 for 110 at cutleryshoppe soon. They’ll price match price on amazon... I just don’t trust amazon for a pm2 I don’t want a fake..

Sry for 3 comment. I paid 155 for s110v Manix before hike.. I also agree about red. I’d love a red pm2 from st nicks but they gone and I’m not paying 250 for one..wanna see some ridiculous prices go to bentobox they selling couple manixs for almost 300..

I been on the fence about the manix 2 for a long time and still can't make up my mind. I hear so many people complain about the ball bearing lock switch being plastic, sticking or getting stuck or maybe just simply being a pain in the ass to close which may become a reoccurring issue or may get better over time I still don't know. I wish knives were given a 30 day trial like certain mattresses. But you on the other hand really seem to effortlessly operate the action with ease and seem to really enjoy opening and closing the knife so much that it's one of your preferred EDC. 🤷‍♂️

If still on the fence, rest assured, there is an $8 spring change (to ‘Medium’) that solves any issue with lock stiffness☝️

Man I just got my first Manix 2 LW and I don’t love it. Ergos are fine, but I despise the frn and the ball lock seems way too stiff. Do you think if I sold it and went for a g10 version I’d be happier? Or am I maybe destined to not love the manix?

I have never handled the LW version, but I also dislike FRN. The ball lock might feel similar on a g10 model, but it shoukd break in. I think you'll be much happier with the g10 version.

I really like my Knifeworks Exclusive M4 PM2, but I always felt like it never really lived completely up to the hype, especially for the price. I decided to give the DLT Exclusive Manix a try due to the full liners and great steel, and I have to say that I really like it better than the PM2. I’m now a Spyderco fan. Part of my original reluctance on the PM2 might be the heft as I think you and I are on the same page on that, but I also have always been a huge fan of the axis lock and the lock on the Manix is close to an axis lock. I’m curious as to whether now that Benchmade’s patent is up they could come out with a Manix 3 with an axis lock as I don’t like that I need to pull on both sides of the lock of the Manix to disengage it (whereas axis locks only require one finger on one side). Great videos as always, and keep up the great work!
