The Spyderco Shaman begs to be used. One of Spyderco's most durable compression lock models for sure.

I paid $245 for a BHQ M4carta Shaman earlier this month. That price was acceptable to me for a M4 exclusive run, but I’d really struggle to justify paying $230 for a standard S30V version.

I used to think the PM2 was the best folding knife ever. How could anything be better? Then I bought a Shaman. These days, when I need a knife or simply want to have one in hand, I go for my Shaman 9 times out of 10.

The shaman is a great cutter despite its chonkieness but I personally use it as my big beefy mechanic/woods folder. For normal day to day use I personally find my self grabbing my PM2, Delica or manix 2 LW depending on my mood. Luckily the shaman and manix I got on sale because I'm not sure I would want to pay almost as much as I did for my on sale M4 PM2 for them. I bought the shaman and manix at the same time and only paid about 220 bucks from DLT and that is roughly what my M4 PM2 cost me when it was on sale.

The way i look at it on price is I can drop 3 bills in Walmart and those goods are gone in 3 months. 200 plus for a blade that I'll be using 10 years from now is reasonable.

The price is high but that’s inflation. Compared to gas up 100+%, the shaman up 30% is a steel. PI

Valid point. I’m a spydie fan boy for sure, but the Shaman just doesn’t do it for me at $240. Just my opinion. It is a fantastic knife 🔪

Great video. I agree, I think the price is a bit steep. But with that, it does have a very thick blade, which is good for some. I would still prefer a PM2 or a Manix 2
