With fitment I had the opposite problem everything was too tight but I managed to get it all into place. Lock Bar tension was way too high and I did have to adjust it. Even though I was able to get it all working properly and I am generally happy with the results I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

Where did you get the scales
@ll-melАй бұрын
This would have been my choice had it not been for the plastic material of the nub used for this lock. I hope a future iteration uses a more premium material for such an important part.

common sense should tell us we must buy the correct scales to begin with, we cant buy the wrong product and blame the maker or the knife. If you buy the correct scales (lightweight) or put the OEM ones back on you would see you dont have this issue. HAS NOTHING to do with the tolerances or milling, its simply not the correct afterrmarket scales.

Let me just leave this comment in case anyone was about to the make the mistake I made. THE CRUWEAR VERSION OF THIS KNIFE IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH MOST AFTERMARKET SCALES. I fucked up and bout some flytanium scales and hardware for my pm2 crucarta. The hardware works fine but the scales do NOT fit the full liner of the crucarta pm2.

Now the question is which one is better, this or the Axis lock? I prefer Spyderco 90% of the time but have had many Benchmades including my very first pocket knife at 12 years old a Benchmade Panther.
@TheOfficialCaseMadeАй бұрын
I think this is inherently more durable than the Axis Lock system. I have heard that the springs will eventually break on the Benchmades.

If you want to use a thread lock compound try the low strength stuff. Loctite brand is pink.

And this is why the bolts or the shaft of the ball cage with fail before the ball, back spacer or blade. One of if not the strongest folding lock there is and so smooth. And no “lock stick” I love pm2s and 3s. And they’re awesome when they’re glassy. But any little stick or “pop” feeling in the lock I can’t stand. Same with frame and liner locks. If it clicks sticks or pops it drives me nuts. Manix 2 is just glass.

In a sense this is like the Demko Shark Lock.
@J0eMega4 ай бұрын
Not quite. The shark lock has a bar that locks onto a pin, making for an extremely strong lock. This is more of just wedging a piece in between the blade and the frame, and using a spring to keep it in place. Still strong, but not nearly as strong as a shark lock.

May I ask what steel it has as a blade on the Kapara that you have shared with us kindly please

The kapara uses S30V steel, most spyderco knives are S30V

Way better than the shitty omega springs that are 100% guaranteed to snap after about a thousand openings. Literally made out of paper clip steel.

How strong of a lock do you even need on a folding knife?? Most locking mechanisms are stronger than you will ever need. The omega springs on the axis suck too.

One of the things that I love about the manix, is that looks like disassembling it doesn't untune it, unlike all my linerlocks which are a total pain in the butt to center BTW thanks for that "tape" trick, it helped me greatly !

The knife is not going to function better with it barely assembled you just overtightened the pivot screw than you made them to lose while leaving the bottom one to tight ,,,tight all them down and adjust lightly
