As a kid, I always wanted so badly to explore a real ice cave when I heard this track. When I moved to Juneau, AK a few years ago, I got to visit the ice caves beneath the Mendenhall Glacier. You'd better believe I whipped out my phone and played this while I was down in there. A childhood dream was realized that day.

I thought if you got everything in the game that is what happened, a temporary spell would be cast on you to make Spyro an adult for a short period. (Until Spyro 2 started) there was even an adult Purple Dragon picture with a medal around his neck, at the end of the game manual.

@@redmage8719 he was. But then it would be tougher to make a platform game with a really tall adult spyro blocking 1/3 of the screen. Thats way most platforms go for characters being around the size of a small ball or box so they can see around them better.

Spyro the dragon was the first ever game i played and completed myself. However, most of the time I wandered around, not 100% completing levels. I remember getting to the beast masters world, and needing more stuff to move on, so i went back. For some reason I only just now found ice cavern. I fell in love with it, the level, the music, everything. Every time I played spyro1 since, as a warmup, I always did rerun Ice cavern. Collecting more and more gems everytime. Then spyro 2 came out.. I went to that game, more friends of me started playing spyro aswell, so i was more hooked into this. But recently, I found this Ice cavern song again, I heard it, and I almost immediatly remembered everything. This great nostalgia feeling consumed me.. Ahhh.. those memories :-) (Note: Dry canyon has kind of a same effect on me, since just a year or 2 ago, i replayed spyro from my save, and that day i 100% that level.)

Sometimes I wish I could go back to the past of playing this game as a little girl and enjoy it the way a little kid would enjoy. :) As a child the game just felt so much more exciting. But I do love this game and Spyro himself just as much as I have always loved him. :)

I like how on each of the spyro songs all of the instruments come together to create an epic feel for the level, the nature of the level can really be heard wthin the music throughout the game. Copeland did an amazing job at composing them!!

Absolutely! Stewart Copeland composed the soundtrack to the Amanda Show and Spyro 1, 2, and 3. Growing up, I always noticed similarities between the music of Spyro, The Amanda Show, and The Police. I didn't figure it out until I got a bit older. It was all Stewart Copeland. That man made my childhood soundtrack lol

Came here after completing ice cavern. Nostalgia hit hard with this soundtrack. The best soundtrack of spyro 1 in my opinion. Back in the 90s I used to go to ice cavern just to zone out to this soundtrack. I just got the spyro trilogy remastered for ps5 and best believe i changed the music to original instead of reignited. I was 10 when this game came out, im 35 now. Miss those days❄️🥶

gtapolice1000 Yeah, if you listen closely, a lot of the tracks of the game share similar motiffs, riffs and the same instruments used. It's what made the soundtrack so great, because each song was so detailed and well written, yet also shared commonalities with each other to make it that "Spyro sound". It's like it's own genre haha.

I just realized, this might be one of the only tracks in the game which doesn’t rely on a clear melodic idea. It’s more atmospheric. Toasty comes close, but eventually has a clear melody. I love the melodies and I’m glad most tracks have them, but I never noticed there are tracks which don’t.
