Part 31: Ripto's Arena
Finally, it's time to confront Ripto. This boss fight takes place in three phases; the first two make use of orbs that you must collect to power Spyro up, but be aware that Ripto can do this as well.
With the defeat up Ripto, Spyro can finally head to Dragon Shores for some relaxation. We'll cover that level in the next video!

Ripto went through such a gruesome death. Even fighting Ripto as a child, i thought dying in lava was pretty brutal.

I Agree the sorceress deserved it but I feel a little sorry for ripto. His entire body ignited and he twitched a little as he goes into shock and burns to death. Also the sorceress survived due to magic and then died an even worse death in acid. But she was an attempted dragon child murder and unlike ripto completely deserved it abs she also screams in agony. At least ripto seemed to go into shock immediately as he wasn’t shrieking in agony. But seeing his body burn is rather disturbing.

Spyro 2 riptos rage was my first ever video game. I won it from a kids tv sweepstakes entry. I can't wait to replay this when my hd trilogy shows up at my door next week!

Ripto's attacks mirror Crush and Gulps, like his red Orb is like Crush's blue circle and Gulp's metal barrel and his green orb is like Gulps bomb and his septer attack is like Crush's red circle and metal Gulp's red orb is like normal Gulp's rocket and metal Gulp's blue orb is like normal Gulp's laser ball attack (but bigger). And normal Gulp is the only boss who can recover his health.

i loved discovering you can use the fire gulp against the mech gulp by just running after him so the worm/dragon/fire gulp thing just hits the mech gulp XD

Can someone explain to me why Hunter was alive after defeating Ripto? After the second phase, he is shot by one of the robot's pieces... I remember as a kid, I assumed he fell into the lava..

It was one of the orbs. I think that it winded him but I think he still remained air bound. You have a keen eye :)

More specific in minute 9:34. I assumed that he went inconscious and fell into the lava :O I remember when I was a kid I was like "Hunter!!!! noooooo" and tried to avenge his death xD but after defeating Ripto, he was alive! I wasn't very sure what happenned!

Nicole Bonnett, but you can calculate where was Hunter's body after that orb or piece of metal hit him. When the floor dissappears, there is no Hunter anywhere!

I don't really know, maybe the game made it look like he died to make it seem more hopeless. He might have been too injured to continue helping and the game made him stop helping you to make the last part of the fight harder, I imagine

Search on Ytb if you be stuck "How to Setup ePSXe 1.8.0! Bios and ROMs Link Included!". Also you can download ePSX2, but it will be little difficult for you on keyboard until you learn. I have 22 year and today lost 10 lives for collecting boxes on water (Crash Bandicoot 2). Damn that boxes, so annoying. Also difficult platform landings on bonus levels.

The final fight is always nerve-wracking. I was so nervous for you Jon because I didn't want you to die and have to start all over, which I hate whenever I fight Ripto. Well, time for the amusement park. :)

I remember when i was a child i cried because ripto's dead and also in crash bandicoot 1 i cried for cortex's supposely dead. it is not like i like bad guys for won but i feel sorry for them to die.

Anybody else notice that Hunter should be totally dead since he got caught in Robo Gulp's explosion and fell into the lava?

For metal Gulp that fire dragon he fires can be used against him just gotta run behind him sharply and the fire dragon thing wil hit the Metal gulp and it takes health from him as well ^^

Spyro murders people all the time, he spent the first game murdering Gnorcs, the second game murdering practically everyone and the third game murdering Rhynocs.

I have all three games in the first franchise. It's amazing too how we defeat Gnasty Gnorc in the first and Ripto in the second and yet they make comebacks in the photo album in the third and the next PS2 games. One user on another video of this game says they were not the real Gnasty Gnorc and Ripto but clones. However when I tried to find this on Wikipedia it said the reason for them surviving their first defeats is unknown.
