I loved how every level was put in one big homeworld. When I was a kid I thought that was intentional. I had no idea it was because of it being rushed. It doesn’t change the fact that I still like this game.

@DeltaGem i think keep them but scrap bubble breath and allow other charging to stun them for capture (i guess make them slightly faster too, so it feels like an easier version of the egg thieves) and then most of the remaining problems are pretty minor by comparison. ripto's always fun, maybe just introduce whoever keeps reviving him (along with gnasty gnorc according to year of the dragon's ending) as an actual character and make sure they don't get killed off so there's actually a lore reason why gnasty gnorc and ripto are alive.

I searched this because these songs are so calming and nostalgic to me, i suffered deeply from anxiety as a little kid. It makes me emotional to listen to i can remember playing this one so well, i play the trilogy but wish every day that they redid this one for the trilogy. I feel it deserved it the most.

This wasn't my first Spyro game and I definitely prefer the original trilogy to this and all the games that came after it, yet I feel more nostalgia for this game than those original 3. There's something about the atmosphere of this music that places me right back into my childhood; 7 year old me running around aimlessly, not knowing what terrible framerates are or this game's rushed development. I think it's the warm ambiance and slight emptiness to this game's environments that really compliment this music; the slightly darker, ominous interlude (at around 1:00) gives the feeling that something bad might happen later in the story, yet it never really does. This theme in particular gives off a dreamy vibe. Having a track like this be one of the first pieces you hear in the game really make me wonder what this game could've been if it wasn't rushed.

Man this is one of my favorite spyro tracks Copeland is genius.... and I have to say this game despite all it's problems being rushed and all the glitches, but none the less it deserves more then is given. I know most people played this on ps2 the fps was never consistent at all but the GameCube port is actually better and if ran on wii it's even more stable almost to a point of perfect. I only wish spyro stayed this way classic design. I'm glad I consider this spyro 4

@@jadedheartsz I doubt it. He said he heard it on a show his mother watched after he played tge game. I doubt his mother watched the Amanda Show at that time since it was geared towards kids. It's possible that some of the samples used in the song were probably used elsewhere since they're license free. Just in case you didn't know, Copeland didn't actually compose a lot of the tracks for the game (he may have done this one though), he really just mixed the tracks. According to some of the composers, he actually ruined the tracks by adding in things like vocal samples.

Some of the sounds you can hear in the Spyro series are taken from sample packs and such. An example is the weird high pitch "wyyy" sound in Enchanted Towers. I found that in a Drum & Bass sample pack as a single sound.

It's a problem in general, but the core of the issue was the amateur development team that had no real experience before Spyro and the fact that the two teams working on it had been completely uncoordinated the whole time. Fuck, one of the developers was surprised the game was even being released with how unfinished it was. It had no potential. It was potential-less.

I still remember when it first came out and I saw it in a catalogue and was like at lunch time, cause we were selling clothes at a market at the time, but at lunch can we go and buy it? Mum was always sort of unsure about it, didn’t really want to, but she did it anyways. But yeah got it, came home a few hours later and into my PS2 and omg bliss! God I loved this game and I’ve played it multiple times into my adult years and still loved it. The music was crazy good too. I barely had any issues with any glitches like others did. I had fun and it was totally worth buying it.

I love this game it a shame that they never finish it truly.. We were support to enter the castle after we beat Riptoe and it ends the game there with him beaten and the game freezes... It's very disappointing. 😔 I remember trying to enter the castle thinking I was doing something wrong even ask other opinions with the book mentioning it, sigh good times. But I still play it today along with the other originals, those were true treasure.

Sample packs. I found out this weekend that most of Copeland's electronic drumming are loops from a sample pack called "Distorted Reality". It also included all the Spyro 2 homeworld chords and everything. Chances are that the whole Mass Effect sounds and Mid Flute sounds are from the same sample pack.
