While we had Copeland bangin' out classics on the PlayStation in the 90's, Baffy was busy bustin' out hidden gems on the GBA in the early 2000's. This one definitely stands out.

I haven't played these games since I was like 7(the PS1 trilogy on the other hand never got lost, I still play those sometimes today). But I NEVER forgot how good the music was here. I remember digging every single Agent 9 tune in this game, the boss fight music, the winter level, moon fondue, so many great tracks that on their own are enough to make want to play the game again.

This Music was my other favorites from this Spyro Season of Flame the Video Game ever and it does bring back memories while it's all officially a Classic that I definitely guarantee. OH YEAH!!!!!!!!

I’ve never played any of the GBA games (cuz I was born after that era, I have played the OG trilogy but I never got a gba or any of the games. Heck I didn’t know what a gba was til I went on KZbin 😆) Anyway, rambles aside, I stumbled across this track and it is AMAZING!! So jazzy and catchy, great stuff!!

I played this game 20 years ago at age of 9 in early 2003. Nd this tune was very memorable. Just today after 20 years it was playing in my head. Nd i thought i need to find it. So i find out your channel. 😁

I'm glad that you've been uploading these enhanced versions of the Season of Flame tracks. Both Spyro 2s were a big part of my childhood; Ripto's Rage and Season of Flame. It kinda feels like the Reignited remix for these tracks we never got to see, in a way. And with how many hours I've put into BOTH Spyro 2s, it's safe to say that tracks like yours and Copeland's breathe life into these games so efficiently that I can't really imagine what it'd be like without 'em. This one in particular is the track I associate with Agent 9 the most, even more than Agent 9's theme from Spyro 3!

I just stumbled across this channel last night and am joyed to see that you've uploaded enhanced versions of these childhood classics! This is one of my favourites which I started a jazz band arrangement of long ago but never finished :( If you have the time I've had a question about this track in the back of my mind for a while? I've always wondered if in the melody at 00:53-4 there was a missing note in the melodica/organ(?) part that didn't play due to hardware limitations, or whether the brief exposed lower chords at that bit where intentional?

Glad you're liking the uploads! Good ear on the chords -- if I recall correctly that was intentional due to how the instrument sounded on the hardware itself. Sometimes you'd have a resonance in a sample that would cause it to sound louder and stick out like a sore thumb on that tiny speaker. In those cases I usually attenuated the offending note(s) or remove them entirely.

Ah, possibly my favourite track from the GBA Spyro games! I wasn't expecting the... trumpet? (sorry if i'm wrong there) at 0:58 to be so loud in this mix, it's had the volume lowered a bit in the console mix.

It's a tuba I think, but I pitched it more like a trumpet. I do like it mixed a bit higher -- I think I just couldn't get it to pop through the tiny speakers on the gba.

What do you use to make these songs

The original compositions were made in Cakewalk, using a custom soundfont and adhering to the technical limitations of the GBA, then exported to MIDI and further converted using some custom tools I wrote to generate data suitable to be compiled by Nintendo's SDK tools. For these updated versions I brought the original MIDI into Ableton Live, then using Plogue's sforzando plugin I imported the original soundfonts and did some basic mixing and added FX.
