My goodness, Ted Price looks like a high school senior in these old interview videos. Dude has been not just the Founder of Insomniac, but its sole CEO for the last nearly 30 years.

I've seen these names a million times in the credits, so it's great to finally attach faces and voices to them. Alex Hastings is probably my favorite; he has an oddly cute demeanor, and I like how he talks.

Spyro devs: "That is our challenge to all the really good players out there; NOT to go out and buy a hint guide or read about it in magazines, but to find out for themself where it is they can go and what it is they can do." 4:16 Common practice these days: "Stuck? Give us more money and we'll help!"

+Matt Pieti Hell, games these days hardly let the player get stuck. So much hand holding.

+OpenMawProductions pfffft no kidding; even the Ratchet & Clank reboot had a bit too much hand holding, you know something's wrong when Ratchet & Clank feels more like it's underestimating the mental capacity of its players more than Spyro despite having a more complex control scheme than Spyro. Honestly I was somewhere around 8 or 10 years old when I first played R&C2 and I never felt like I needed constant reminders about which button did what because the control scheme for R&C was and still isn't THAT complicated. And if anyone around my age back then did have trouble remembering the controls it never took them that long to either read through the manual or find the controls in the pause menu

You know that place deep in your brains were that information lies you never knew existed and when you tuck deep into that place and remember the first levels of spyro when you were just a small child and your pupils dilate and you get this broad smile and you remember every single turn, but only 2 seconds before it's about to happen and at the same time you don't remember anything from the place at all and it's like playing a game for the first time, a game you've played a million times before.

I loved these games, they were amazing with soooooo many things to do. You could never be bored lol. They were games inside games. Some of the levels were almost impossible to beat, I still have no idea how I figured it out but I always did. Then I got a play station 2 and a new spyro game. I was so disappointed. The only thing you did was kill fodder and move on to the next level. Who cares about graphics, when they are void of substance. Just a small fraction of the thought and quality of the original games. I did enjoy the crash bandicoot racing game. I figured they must have sold the rights to the dragon and sold out to a complacent money grubber that figured we wouldn't notice how lame the new games were. To the original creators you are masters of your craft. I wish you had carried on with the play station 2 versions. "Trouble with the trolley aye?"

"For every super charge,there is a secret area you can get to". Oh trust me,I know. I know from that last dragon in Haunted Towers that was nearly impossible to get XD Also,I wonder why the creators only put theives with dragon eggs only in the first 3 worlds. It would have been so much more fun having more theives ,but that's just me. This is one of my favorite games :) The only part I didn't like were those flying levels!

This is exactly me. Haunted Towers was the only level I couldn't figure out how to 100% as a kid. I finally managed it just recently, like 10+ years later (not of playing the game constantly). I also liked the flying levels least, so it's weird seeing and hearing as many people on youtube say those were their favourite parts.

so wait, the last of us and tomb raider, both that came out last year only and both looked great anyway get a re-release with better graphics, but Spyro and Crash Bandicoot, old school classics that were the first mascots of the playstation, dont get re-makes?! Man, imagine these games in full HD
@jordirapper
@jordirapper 10 жыл бұрын
They still look okay, but they do look aged. I mean, in the Spyro games, his eyes aren't even connected to his head :p I'm not saying graphics are the most important or anything, in fact I'd still pop in any of the Spyro trilogy or Crash 2 or 3 (not 1, sr I just hate the control in that) But still, based on technology, on graphics and on age, why rerelease games that aren't even 3 years old and dont benefit as much as games that could Again, they could just clean the games up a bit and I bet you it would still sell millions cause of the fans of the classics today God, I'm so desperate for a new Crash Bandicoot game =(
