@@thombaz I'm on it, I already have the parts and the PCBs. 16xWS2812B, 2 buttons, battery holder, WeMOS D1 mini (im kinda concerned about the range... well, I can always add some external antenna later). We've designed a Dead by Daylight-like game with my friend that would require smaller range. Now my only problem is that I would need to solder all the LEDs and decoupling caps by hand... That's why I'm currently building a hot air station :P

I wish ESP-Now could broadcast to multiple devices at once. Seems like it would be well suited to this kind of application.

I think it would be cool to have a leaderboard sort of system, where you could get a list of players who are infected and who aren't, and display it on a monitor.

It will be hard because all the ESPs is not connect to each other at once. They only communicate when both (or more) get near each other. Except you have a giant high power antenna to connect them all.

@@nopparuj Maybe just have it switch for a split second every few seconds to transmit. They likely would all need external antennas though. Probably not practical to setup such a system, but one can dream.

I never thought about that as an attack vector - but I believe now Aaron uses ESP-NOW, so that wouldn't work.

@@CNLohr this was my first thought as well - our phones can both create networks, and also indicate very high-level details about signal strength - it seems like a phone could be a sort of monitor, at the very least, or an infector at the worst
