I got the 612R and it is great for my lower back, no issues even on very long rides. Climbing it is amazing, too, however, it is hard af. Unless you tilt the pelvis forward so much that you perfectly lie in the wall where the rear is raised, the saddle kills your sit bones.

Great saddle!! I haven't ridden many saddles, but the SQ Lab 612 stands out. I test rode it for less than a week and decided to buy it, because it was so comfortable. I would highly recommend and this is now my saddle of choice.

Luckily for you, you heard about this obscure company from Germany, SQ Lab, and these ridiculously comfortable saddles through me. Also lucky for you the Bianchi XR4 has the 612R on it and you can test ride the saddle AND the frame to make your decision on your new bike. 😉

I am still trying to figure out the saddle thing, I have spent weeks trying to decide what to do, the R looks interesting

Ha Ha analysis paralysis 😂 you’re acting like an engineer and not a cyclist with passion - it’s not that complicated 🤣🤣 FYI I prefer the standard over the R

@@markfalkingham590 oh geez! Please stop 🛑! If you don’t mind me saying you’re wasting too much time and effort. Out of 100’s of SQ Lab demos I’ve setup I think fewer than 3 have ever said they didn’t like the SQ Lab saddle better than any other saddle they’ve ridden. I’m being generous because as I’m writing this I can only think of one person. Just buy it ride it and if you don’t like it sell it - it will sell very quickly but if you set it up properly this saddle has fixed 100’s of my customers

@@SeeYouUpTheRoad I am an engineer I over analyze EVERYTHING, but I just got an email from SQLAB and if I order from their website here in Germany I can ride the saddle for 30 days and return it for a full refund OR a different model. This is a game changer for me, zero risk.. This is only an option available in Germany so I guess I’ll order one, now a short decision between the R version and the regular version, I have been wanting a slightly shorter saddle anyway.

@@markfalkingham590 nice benefit of you living in Germany. I do a 2 week demo for my local customers free of charge. For what it’s worth, I think you will not get the full comfort experience going with the R saddle. The standard saddle is much more comfortable. Please heed my advice. Tell me why you have been looking for a short saddle.

Some of us like the shoet nose saddles because it allows us to run the saddle further forward while not hitting the nose od the saddle with thighs when sprinting.

I think this is what people are missing on the 612R. It specifically states on their website that the 612R requires a 5-20cm drop from saddle to handlebars. That is pretty large, I'd imagine most people who dislike this saddle, don't have that much drop. For context, world tour riders commonly have 8-12cm drop or more. So this saddle is designed for people riding very aggressively.

Thank You Daniel. I will check my drop from saddle to bars when I get home. I’m gone for the weekend riding in Death Valley 🏜️

@@SeeYouUpTheRoad No problem, list it here when you get a chance, I'm curious. Appreciate your reviews! I'm guessing too this saddle will feel better as it gets even more past 5cm. The website says the 612 works best from 0-5cm drop.

What do you think of the Active SQ Lab saddles?
@SeeYouUpTheRoad
@SeeYouUpTheRoad 2 жыл бұрын
According to SQ Lab they sell really well. On a personal level I can’t imagine how a saddle that moves under you is a good thing. I like a stable platform from which to produce power from. They are not for me but you sir can give them a try. Please let me know what you think.

Do all the 612s have the elastomer and 612R doesn’t?
@SeeYouUpTheRoad
@SeeYouUpTheRoad 3 жыл бұрын
Hello SSnakesii - Thank you for watching and for posting a comment! The 612 saddles come in Active and non-active. Active signifies it comes with 3 elastomers (white, grey and black). The darker the color the firmer they will be. SQ Lab provides a chart with recommended body weight and which elastomer corresponds for their ideal ride. That is one starting point and you can adjust from there. I tend to tell riders it really just depends on how much increase comfort you might wish for based on terrain think graveling :-) The 612R is purely a roadie's race saddle and does not come in an active version and it is really light because of that. Please let me know if you have any further questions. Thank you for your sub!

They do not make a 16 cm saddle in the 612. You may have to change to a different model. 15 cm is the largest they make.
