the game crashed 3 times in less then an hour, it's even less optimized then the pu and shows the exact same memory leaks and server bugs then the pu while being a single player offline game, CIG are incompetent scamers.

If you are in space on a giant city size space battleship, why wouldn't you carry some type of massive aoe weaponries to deal with swarms of things. You are in space and can make weapons that are as explodey as you like. If i am the Commander of a space battleship, I'm nuking everything. enemy missle cruiser, nuke. Fighter swarm, nuke. Hospital ships, nuke. Refueling ships, nuke. Diplomatic space shuttles, yep, right to nuke.

Was expecting more gameplay from the game. Breaking it up by sections, this is 40 minutes of gameplay, a majority of which is on-rails turrets and walking around. And 32 Minutes cutscenes. I see ur point, though a LOT of game intros consist mostly of story telling and cinematics. I bet right after this, it will be more gameplay less cutscenes.

@@sentinelcorps Honestly, I was still somewhat into it until the rather self-indulgent hotshot pilot short film of taking on the giant ship to try and stop the big fuckoff cannon of fuckoffery from firing. That's about when I rolled my eyes and got bored. Just stuck thinkin "man, sure would be nice if they'd let me play this bit." There is a way to do this type of intro right. Many things to consider that add and take away from it. But one little rule of thumb that I would say generally helps: Let the player play in the most exciting part. God of War: Ragnarok I think would be a good example of it being done well. As the saying goes: where there's smoke, there's usually fire. When this many people are making the exact same criticism, then 'whataboutisms' referencing other games is a moot point. Especially when this one has the highest budget and production time of any game ever by no small margin. Never forget. Bauldur's Gate 3 was conceptualized, pitched, produced, spent years in early access, was fully released, and won all the awards a year ago (production started 2016) in less time than it's taken to create the Banu Merchantman (stretch goal reached in 2013).

@@soaphelps I have read the books and watch the trilogy at least once a year. I've done so since their theatrical releases. 1. This ain't even close to that level. 2. This is a game, not a movie.

This was the same exact intro in Freespace. Super giant surprise dark alien motherships popping out of nowhere. They could've used a lit bit more creativity here, they have certainly had time.

Honestly a pretty boring way to start a game with extremely long cutscenes that many players will skip and multiple on-rails turret sequences.

@@billy_pilgrim I wouldn’t call a full-scale vanduul war intro boring. But I believe that the cinematics are purely to setup story so the more gameplay involved will be after this.

@@sentinelcorps Just seemed more on-rails and cut-scene heavy than I was expecting. From a gameplay perspective it seemed boring to me and I can't imagine it looking much different when other people play it. More like a movie than a game. That's fine for some people, but it won't be a good first impression for others.

@@soaphelps I haven't played a COD game since the original Modern Warfare, but this reminded me a lot of that campaign mode without the 'fun' parts. We got manned, highly scripted turret sections and linear level design with very little actual freedom or choice. It's just outdated. Like an interactive movie. I love good story in games and good cinematics and even I found this to be a painfully slow, boring start to a game. When the hornets showed up to the Kingship, I was like okay finally we get some gameplay... but nope just another cutscene.
