That's what annoyed me about the game, they rated players on how well they performed at the 1994 World Cup, there's no way on earth Hristo Stoichkov was better than a player like Dennis Bergkamp.

The full 3D rendered model that you see running around in the intro is actually the same model that's used to render the 2D sprites. I worked as an artist on this game :)

You could dive in this game and win a penalty. You could do a professional foul and then run away from the referee for 10 minutes until you gave up and then he'd give you a red card. Great game.

@@Squakenet I always did it from the point were the circle and the middle line cross each other. Than a bit to the outside. Using a curve ball. Also my view was from behind the players.

...this game used to run on a 486 with 16MB RAM, we really cannot make any comparison. For that time the game, in SVGA, was excellent, altough the playability could have been better indeed.
