My 1545 will be wearing a Hirsch Rubber Strap in a few days. Love my Squale. ~I bought my Watch from Long Island Watch many years ago. I bought my Strap from there as well three days ago. ~If my Squale had Drilled Lugs, it would be my perfect watch.

The 1545 is a lot of watch for the money I was impressed with the rootbeer ceramic I got to look at a bit ago . Nice watch for money for sure.

Great watch. I got the Classic Ceramic version which is the same except the dial is glossy black instead of matte, and the indices are not maxi size but do have applied surrounds. Best bezel action of any piece I own. I agree that for $500 this is the best homage, plus you get an ETA movement. Cheers.

Thanks for the great review. I like this watch. I think it looks classy in a no-frills kind of way. It would have been nice to see it on the Nato strap Squale supplied. But that is nitpicking I suppose.

Does yours have silver or white enamel inside the numerals on the ceramic bezel? It seems like I've seen both colors even on the ceramic, but I can't tell if it's just my eyes playing tricks.

Good review. Only a few things I want to touch on, and that is the turndown on the endlinks. I have an 7 3/4 inch wrist and it wears just fine. Unless the top of your wrist is perfectly flat it will wear just fine for you also. Secondly, this watch is signed no less than six times; Squale twice on the dial, once on the clasp, and once on the caseback. Van Buren Crest on both the dial and the crown. It may resemble the Submariner, but it is also trying very hard to be it's own watch. I really like mine.

The 1545 is a nice watch but I still prefer the more interesting and unique styling queues of the 1521. I just feel the 1521 has a more discernable identity while the 1545 is getting dangerously close to a vintage Sub homage piece like the Steinhart. That is not to say that these are not good watches, but I want something which says to me it is a Squale first and foremost.

On camera the markers look green in color, not sure if that is the case in person but it reminds me of a cheap Chinese piece that makes you think it will glow like a torch in the dark! Markers should be white or a patina look like your Steinhart, hopefully it’s just something I’m picking up on my iPad.
