It took me more time than I want to admit but finally realized I could slow the speed of vlog instead of going back multiple times to see the stitches and I also zoom in so I can better see and fallow along. Da!

(Just a side note:). It’s not ‘SELtic’…it’s “KELtic’. Celtic refers to Irish culture and heritage, along with the historical people who migrated from the British Isles throughout much of Europe. While the early pronunciation was with an /s/ sound, reflecting its nearest origin in French, the modern standard is a hard "c" sound like /k/. This is because language historians desired the word to better reflect its Greek and Classical Latin origins. The soft "c" sound is usually reserved for sports teams now, like the Boston Celtics. But I absolutely love this stitch! Thanks for the video!

This pattern is beautiful! I just started with this project and bought your pattern on Etsy. 😊 I can't wait to get to this pattern. I'm on the first square pattern just doing the front and back post stitches. Your videos are so easy to follow. Thank you so much.

I love the look of the Celtic Stitch, however, I don't like the look of the back of that stitch. I want the back to look exactly like the front. I found that if you do the front post stitch and the back post stitch in each row, the Celtic stitch will appear the same front and back.

Love the video very pretty and easy to follow. One correction though it’s pronounced Kel tik not Sel tik the Celtics basketball team has it wrong as well lol

love all your videos! First noticed the Ana Beanie tutorial and am now lost in all your wonderful patterns and videos. Thank you! (also just wanted to point out that the pronunciation for "Celtic" is Kel-tik. =) )

Correct, Celtics people from ye Ole Scotland & Ireland, pronounced with a "hard C"...like a K. The basketball team uses the soft "c", like "sea, or "see".

Very good post easy to fallow along however Celtic is a hard C more like keltic. When I was a kid up north I was pronouncing conch wrong and when I finally found out I wished someone told me sooner because I was embarrassed. I would also tell U if you had Ur shirt on inside out 😂

Gorgeous stitch, well done. Just a little note, Celtic is pronounced with a hard "c", like "kick".... I'm Welsh and am used to hearing it pronounced incorrectly.

YES! Kel-tic

Ha I commented the same. Irish, Welsh, and Scottish here lol. Was born in Belfast raised in the US for some reason this pronunciation has bothered me my whole life.

I would love to do this blanket but I would want the squares to be bigger. Like 12in. Possible? What is the multiple for each square?

I am trying to find out the name of a similar stitch, can you help me identify it? sk st, dc in the next 3 st, then go back to sk st, working across the front of the 3 dc, then working from back to front, work dc?
@lindzmorris27784 жыл бұрын
Hi, it sounds like "Cable Stitch". You might find that a pattern suggests a double treble (UK, Treble I think in the USA), rather than a shorter stitch. Because it's a taller stitch the twist over shows up better. Search for cable and see if you can find a pattern. Good luck x

You go too fast, especially when you started the 3rd row…
