came here in hopes that I didn't have to remove the bed to change the tank. Thanks, sir.

Good lord, to do this kind of work on a garage floor is like trying to climb Mt. Everest while wearing a windbreaker @ jeans!

The part you didn't know the name of is a switchover solenoid valve to switch which tank the pump draws from. Thanks for the video, I was trying to figure out how the straps connected, now I see.

My plan is to mount a fuel barrel in the bed of the truck. I have to find the return line and get it plumbed in.

I have a 87 and I'm having problems with it starting unless I pour gas in throttle body, maybe I need to buy new tanks and that switch over valve is a headache! Will cause you problems! Lmc sells the complete replacement kit!

I have a 1987 stepside that just stopped running, cranks but will not turn over.Pretty sure the fuel pump went out. www.carparts.com has fuel tanks for $44 each, and shipping is $22 plus another $5 dollar fee. The fuel pumps and sender units are around $80. I will probably go this route, LMC is kind of pricey. I hate spending money if it turns out to be something else...

@@TheMauser98a wow they are cheap! That 87 of mine has been tough dealing with starting! A mechanic at a big shop told me that you have to time those trucks just right and most people don't do it right!!

@@TheMauser98a does it have the duel tanks? it could be the switch over valve!

@@jurnagin mine had same issue starting, cranking and cranking but not turning over, poured gas in carb, turned right over, while running my son noticed gas pouring from the fuel tank.. lined is rotted, pump pulling air instead of fuel during crank, problem solved

@@looseparashoot I remember driving mine 10 miles down road and noticing gas running down from throttle body onto headers, a guy told me that it wouldn't hardly catch on fire, but that scared me to death and it's been parked every since that day 5 years ago, maybe I need to replace all fuel lines and clean tank

this video is not very good. You expect to see someone remove a tank not after the fact. I just have to say you do mumble a little which you should work on if you post another video. Another pet peeve is when a video camera is moving all over there place and often is showing the floor. Your video is ok but if you watch a really good instructional type video thats what I think should be the goal. This is the first time I written a comment so please don't take it personal.
