Thank you for demonstrating why this is not a good choice for a classic Cloud Strife. I honestly don't get why Bring Arts is so expensive. I don't think being an import has anything to do with it tbh ..
@Sayacalbees878 ай бұрын
Yeah, nothing to do with being an import more a square enix thing. Their play arts Kai are close to 200 now it’s baffling, especially in this economy they are so out of touch

@@Sayacalbees87 They are desperate to keep a monopoly on these things. If they just sold the license to other companies this would be a whole different story. You just know Jada Toys would pump these figures out for 40 bucks and they would look just as good and probably have more range of movement and accessories. But Square refuses and we have no choice but to pay the price if we want these figs. Personally, I ‘m going to sell off my Remake PAK figures in favor of these because I just love this classic style, and frankly size wise they are more my cup of tea. But not everyone is willing to that nor should they.

Cloud is pretty short (5'8) so he scales pretty well in my opinion.

You mentioned Xenogears. Hope you picked up their Bart that just came out. Mine just shipped.

It looks good, but high prices for smaller figures with limited accessories seem off. I have the very old one when the game came out. Hard to keep standing even with a stand, and the sword weighs more than the arm can support. But looks cool.

Regret getting rid of those many years ago.

I remember seeing those Bandai figures in a Toys R Us when I was a kid, maybe a year after I had gotten FF7. The lack of articulation really turned me off of those. It's so great to see these. The Squeenix tax is WAY too high though. I want these, but not that badly. Especially when I imagine trying to actually get the whole crew? Yeesh.

In general Bring Arts are definitely more about appearance over function. And I guess I had been fine with that...till the more recent price increases? Like a few years ago I got some of their figures with way more accessories for notably less. The fact its both the FF7 and 16 ones that seems to be this higher price point with almost no accessories is kinda frustrating, also cuz they seem to be selling out? So if I don't want these to end up being scalped for like 200+ like the FF9 Bring Arts are now, its like I have to make the choice now lol.

Thankfully 16s figures actually move well. I have Clive, Torgal and Jill, and the only problem i have is that Jills skirt piece HAS to be made out of thicker stuff that the prototype in the promo shots, cuz her legs can be difficult to move. But Clives a treat. Another plus side is that if you only want the heros, other than 7, 16s isnt nearly as large of a cast.

FFVII is hands down my favorite RPG of all time by a super wide margin. I've had my eye on getting some figures for a long time, but I just haven't been able to pull the trigger on those prices. Like you, these Bring Arts looks are exactly what I'd want (not too interested in the updated Remake looks...really want something more like the original toony looks). But, I have to be honest, these would have to be treated more like posable statues than actual action figures...which I'm not a fan of. At these prices, I would hope for something closer to Figuarts or Figma functionality. He does look really good, but I think I'd be let down. Maybe if I hit the lottery, or something, lol. Thanks for the great review!

Looks cool, but not for that price. I have the entire set of the original Bandai figures, though, so I think I'm good (got 'em right after the game came out, too!).

I’ve preordered him and I will probably get the rest as well, but I am selling off my Remake PAK figures in favor of these. As much as the pricing sucks, I just can’t resist the style of these figures. On the bright side, I am much more selective with what figures I buy and am easing out of the collecting game for a while now selling off a lot of figs so this and the upcoming SHF One Piece Pre Timeskip line are going to be my last 2 collections.

Update on what you think of them?
@Alexx10838 ай бұрын
Well, I already preordered it and it's on the way, but MAN that is disappointing. For SO MUCH MONEY to get so little and with such weird limitations....I don't get it. So what are you gonna do? Still getting the rest of the team? I'm considering canceling the rest and just leaving it at a three member team.

Oh man, you just know you would get better quality for like 40 bucks, with more accessories.

I consider this one of the most disappointing figures ive ever purchased. Especially given the price point. I got it for my Smash Bros display but my intent was to get a second one to pair with the FFVII characters as they dropped. Now i dont really want anything else in the line. To top it off, I received the Revoltech Moon Knight at the same time. And the value for my dollar at a similar price was night and day.
