You only heard the full ending theme with credits after Mathnet every Friday. I always enjoyed the Friday episodes a lot because of this.

I miss This show i remember watching this on my 13 inch black & white tv in my room when I was in first grade in 1991. I wish they would bring this back to t.v.

I LOVE Square One TV, I use to watch this along w/its sister shows Sesame Street, The Electric Company, 3-2-1 Contact, Ghostwriter (The PBS Years) and also other shows like Captain Kangaroo, Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, OWL TV, Wonderworks, Reading Rainbow, Bill Nye The Science Guy and even Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? and BTW, this show was on when Classic Concentration, Full House and A Different World were on the air along with Soul Train and America's Top 10 w/Casey Kasem and Wheel of Fortune was still airing on both Daytime (NBC & CBS and back to NBC until 1991) and on Nighttime Syndication (and continues on syndication to this day)

For all of us here that grew up with this show as kids in the late 80's and early 90's, why on earth don't they put this on DVD? I mean I loved watching SQ1TV because math was and still is my favorite subject.
@richardadamson1438 Жыл бұрын
It's a mystery. I'd pay money for a DVD/Blu-ray compilation of the series and I didn't even grow up with it. I found out about it later.

PBS doesn't really have anything for that age group anymore. They focus entirely on early childhood. Square One, 3-2-1 Contact, Ghostwriter, In the Mix...there was a period where they were going after the 8-14 range (to put it broadly), but I guess that audience just went elsewhere over the years. It's too bad.

Probably just couldn't compete against what was airing on Nickelodeon, Disney Channel, and Cartoon Network.

Oh wow In The Mix! I loved that show too. I was in high school when that show was running. Their heavier topics and the NYC vibes from it being filmed around NYC appealed to me so much.

@SQ1Fan And of course, Electric Company never had a show-within-a-show like SQ1 had. Mathnet's tone could get surprisingly urgent considering all the silliness that surrounded it. XD EC went off the air when I was barely even talking----if KZbin hadn't happened to pop up, I wouldn't know anything about it other than that it was a show that once existed.

@kimlanglewis152 Жыл бұрын
Back then when we watched these shows as kids, it was about educating us through very innovative ways. Every show had something you can learn. Math and History was Square one's staple. Sesame street is still a good all around to learn numbers and more. Mister Rogers Neighborhood dealt with a lot of different topics but mainly how to deal and be kind to people........your neighbor. Then you had shows like Reading Rainbow which encouraged you to pick up a book, let your imagination run wild and be excited about reading. Unfortunately, now everything is about an agenda and indoctrinating.
