@@JP-kp9kh Cancel culture isn't the biggest problem. Complete suppression of the truth and hypocrisy accepted like programmed robots as the Human norm in the World is the biggest problem. The media controllers trying today to make funny or forcing to be funny of garbage that will be quickly forgotten 10 years in the future while stuff 25 or more years ago that still is and will be funny 50 years from now as the day it first aired on TV. There is actually a lot of hypocritical forms of political correctness or censorship of content, etc from both the left and the right ideology sides. In fact both have created debating religious cult like myths against each other. The "grammar nazis" are among the biggest hypocrite abusers of the freedom of content, tolerance and open speech. Political Correctness Can Lead to an Orwellian Nightmare - British comedian Monty Python and Fawlty Towers alum John Cleese. Canada also has the same obsession with euphemisms and soft words since the 1980's. To those calling George Carlin a leftist comedian the funny thing is he also hated the hypocrisy of the extreme left equally as much as he did of the extreme right. “The habits of liberals, their automatic language, their knee-jerk responses to certain issues, deserved the epithets the right wing stuck them with. I'd see how true they often were. Here they were, banding together in packs, so I could predict what they were going to say about some event or conflict and it wasn't even out of their mouths yet. I was very uncomfortable with that. Liberal orthodoxy was as repugnant to me as conservative orthodoxy.”

Any and all respect I may have had for the man, any willingness I had to give him a pass on his not guilty verdict because of the TOTAL screw ups on the part of the LAPD regarding the case that made that verdict possible was lost forever when he wrote that. I was glad to see that the families of his victims got the book and had it reprinted to look like it then said "I DID IT." That was, IMO, sick and a smirking middle finger to the families and anyone involved. (Of course, the smug racists on the jury who confessed in later years that no matter what, they were finding him not guilty as "payback" for Rodney King deserve the same scorn)

It’s satire from a comedian. Defamation is very technical, its not just "saying stuff that's mean or making fun of someone". The person defamed has to prove that factual statements of the defamer were false, the speaker knew it was false, and the defamee has suffered damage. It's that last one that protects comedians, as noone thinks that comedians are saying serious things about the defamee.

THAT ought to be a sketch! O.J. sitting in Hell's waiting room, Patrick Stewart as the Devil tells him thar, at one time, they had a very special punishment for a murserer like gim, but something just opened up... cut to: a heavily prosthetic'd cast member as Norm on the old WU set. "Here's the fake news: O.J. Simpson will soend eternity listening to me roast him for killing his wife and that other guy!"

Why feel guilty? the only so called victim of his jokes are the killer OJ Simpson. Norm was the only person who wasn't afraid to bring this travesty miscarriage of justice up over and over again. The hellish thing is that everyone knew he was guilty, even his most staunch supporters, but they thought an eye for an eye was the only way to go, and that Simpson was the beacon of hope for all black men sent down by the justice system. The black hole sized flaw in that logic was that Simpson was guilty. How can he be the representation of justice for black people when he did it? It makes my head hurt thinking of the logic behind it. They saw it as a win for the black community for years of men being sent down for crimes they didnt commit, or for brutal sentences where the punishment didnt fit the crime. But this man Simpson, he murdered his wife and her friend. How can he represent any of that?

Do you know what Norm is? You people still dont get it. Norm isnt a "comedian" per se. He is a man that lived life based on his own terms. Even if that meant an ending of his career. Do you now how many people sell their souls for a job that they hate or for kissing ass of a boss that they hate? Norm was different than 90% of humans in the west. I dont just respect his comedy. I respect his "universe is billions of years and im on this planet for only a blink of a second, so who gives what anyone thinks..we're all going to be dead soon" attitude. A man who escaped 2D box. Much respect.

Yup, he was told by the exec who was a friend of "The Juice", to lighten on the jokes, which Norm doubled down on. Some time after, Norm was asked to host the show and he joked about it saying along the lines of "You all really suck." on his opening monologue.
