Great times! Power is the man! Insightful commentary by Martin Heath!

And hilarious commentary by the other guy. "Stroke?" "No, that was a no let. " "Down then. The ball was down." No, but thanks for playing.

I have the DVD with the full match. I one of those games, Power played with a racquet with no grip. Ricketts and the referee didn't let Power to put a new one in his racquet. If i'm not wrong, Power won that game, gripping the racquet directly in the racquet carbon (or plastic, because it was one of those racquets Dunlop done with interchangeable grips with different weights). Ricketts is one of my favorite players, and one of the best ever, but that was a situation I didn't like. Anyway, Ricketts was right: Power couln't change the grip in the middle of a game.

So, I don't get it, if it goes into tie break, how many points do you have to win by?

I don't understand why the commentator kept referring to a "tie-breaker". "Now they'll play the tie-breaker", as if something different is about to happen. Quite simply you play to 11, but must win by at least 2. I believe he said earlier in the match this was around the time scoring converted to PAR, so I guess he didn't know what else to call it?

I won a game 21-19. It was game 1 and it was exhausting. I lost the next 3 games but was happy I played well against someone who is presently a squash pro.

They'd ask court cleaners to come in and clean Ricketts sweat off the court nowadays.

Joshua Waring too funny. It is funny when you are used to hearing the PSA squash commentators, who are excellent, and then you get an announcer who obviously doesn’t play much. It’s almost amusing what they say.
@bmw-e304 жыл бұрын
A lot of early commentary on squash sought constantly to explain strategy and rules despite the fact that only people who are into squash and know all this already actually watch squash games so a lot of unnecessary babble.
@squashtv4 жыл бұрын
A lot of the pre-SquashTV stuff was produced for a local TV channel, rather than an online subscription service so they’re likely to have a higher proportion of non-Squash fans
