Makin is a cool guy, but Ibrahim plays just a very entertaining squash!
@ckoegl6 ай бұрын
Wow. Ibrahim brought out the best in Makin. I honestly think that Makin was enjoying that match, it is not every day you can play against such an "exotic" player as Ibrahim. If Ibrahim could bring himself to excercise a bit less flashy and slightly more economic play, maybe, he could go further. But that is all part of the maturation process. Ibrahim is surely a force to look out for. Extremely entertaining.

Nice moment between them at 7:17. I think it reflects well on a player's mental strength if he can switch on a dime from intense battle mindsight to sharing a laugh.

It's so much better watching a left hander playing a right hander, as the rallies are not just straight backhand after straight backhand...

Big win for Makin, however, I don't think he will beat Elias if he plays on a similar level against him as he did in this match.

The shot by Makin at 6:00 is so bonkers , doesn't it look like he played the shot through his legs??!
@TheN00bPolice6 ай бұрын
Also the wrong shot to attempt, with a Jon Power or Shabana forearm/wrist you can get those defensive shots cross court deceptively to return the pressure with interest, but that position was a real tough ask and he should have just gone straight
@Siatkowkarzadzi6 ай бұрын
This shot didn't go between his legs. BUT Gaultier played such cross between Mosad's legs in their world championship final. Nobody noticed it, except me I guess 😛 I even wrote to squash TV so they could make a clip with that but they must have ignored me or overlooked it 😅

these 'highlights' don't do this match justice. The amount of court service from ibrahim to disrupt the game,and the moaning was insane. Also the pair squared up to each other which was mentioned in the interview after the game but not in the highlights.

You see it in pretty much all physical high level competitive sport. There are many reasons. It has a complex relationship with hormones, adrenaline and cortisol and also can help withstand pain and increase coordination. You’re right, it’s not necessary, it is optional and potential optimal 💪🏼😏
