In Ramy's last tournament he won all of his games 3-0 playing against legends due to his lower seeding after playing hardly any squash the previous few years. My favorite part of his game was that he didn't fish for lets/strokes he always played through even if it put him at a disadvantage, then beat you the old fashioned way just to prove he was the best.

It's so surprisingly pleasant to see that after such greusomely long rallies, the losers have the graciousness to appreciate their opponent and even applaud for them. I haven't seen such frequent gestures of sportsmanship in any other sport. Great stuff the ladies and gentlemen of squash.

Ramy has got to be the greatest squash player of all time at his peak. Certainly not the most consistent in results due to injury but if you placed the best players at their peak best in a match against ramy at his best, I’m sure he would beat anyone.

18:12 Sometimes I feel like Ramy's career all built up to this one point. I'll always remember in an interview where M. Elshorbagy said that the thing that made Ramy so hard to play was his length, not his short game as most would assume.

James Sanderson one was a best of 3 round robin in World Series Final which Ramy let go and won the tournament in the end. The second was in the British Open 2016 Final and Ramy was injured lost 3-0 in 20 minutes or something. The third was the only real win for Mo and it was in the World Championships 2017 after a massive 31 minutes first game which Ramy who had just came back from a big layoff 2 months before wasnt fit enough to match Mo’s fitness. It should be noted that atleast 3 of the matches Ramy won was with him semi injured. 2012 World Champions was hamstring. 2014 World Champions was his shoulder in the end of the first game. 2015 he was seen spraying his leg between games. If Ramy is totally fit i bet he wouldn’t loose a single game.

Anthony Gagliano they only had 11 to choose from, of which Shorbagy only won 3 so maybe these matches were just more monumental
@AKGagliano4 жыл бұрын
@@MrJoel3498 Yup, I agree that your opinion is definitely the more diplomatic way of looking at it...and you totally could be right. Although I'd say the 2016 British Open final is a fairly respectable tournament/match. It's just when you know the politics/dispute that I think they're in right now with Shorbagy, it seems somewhat obvious that this was intentional. Of course this could all just be in my head, and the matches in this compilation were all the close matches, which Ashour just happened to win! ;)

No agenda from us. We did notice that these were all Ramy wins before posting, and actually discussed whether we should balance it out with a Mo win, but we decided to go with what we thought were genuinely the best matches. Despite being on the losing end, Mo plays some amazing squash in these matches, performances that no doubt would have beaten anyone else in the world at the time!

@@squashtv I couldn't agree more! No one ever pushed Ramy as hard as Shorbagy did. Matthew's rivalry with Ramy was definitely up there because their matches were great in the earlier part of the last decade, but the performances both Ramy and Shorbagy put on were some of the best of all time.
