@bernabex2
@bernabex2 10 ай бұрын
even if you hold a world record doesnt mean everything you do is perfect, from the first exercise in the video you can see her knees collapsing in doing a squat, horrible form and no discipline just to push more weight than your joints can stay stable on 😅
@gingerayyle
@gingerayyle 10 ай бұрын
@@bernabex2 I normally don't take the time to respond in detail to comments like yours on the internet but I'm feeling frisky tonight so here goes: It's clear you don't know anything about weightlifting if you're criticizing her squat form, let alone thinking it's "horrible". She has perfect balance, rack position, torso angle, stability, leg drive, explosiveness, and pathing in every single position of the squat. C+J and snatch incorporate the squat in some version, so if she didn't have quasi-perfect form, she wouldn't be anywhere close to top 3 in the world, let alone competing on the international stage. If you genuinely wanted to be really anal about it, there's an infinitesimally tiny bit of room for improvement, as there is with everyone, even for someone like Lu Xiaojun, but it would take an expert to point out and consider "fixing" since changing the smallest idiosyncrasies an elite athlete has developed can actually be counterproductive (i.e., Shi Zhiyong's slightly off-center receiving stance, Klokov's feet angle, etc.) Additionally, Team China, the #1 WL country in the world by a long shot (they hold basically half the gold medals/world records) and the gold standard of technique doesn't care about perfect knee tracking in squats as long as the inward knee isn't too excessive. If any inward knee movement genuinely were harmful and made the lift weaker, nobody would be doing it. WL is not like other sports like basketball (I love basketball btw) where you have elite NBA players that can get away with having horrible shooting form-sure you might have the rare medalist with a slightly odd pull style or shuffle jerk, but if it were a serious form issue they wouldn't do it or else they'd get injured very quickly with how much weight they're moving. I wouldn't be so rude if you showed even the slightest bit of respect to Mirabai but instead here you are being an absolute donut saying she has "horrible form and no discipline" in her squat. I can only assume that the reason you said what you did is because you're insecure that a woman a fraction of your weight is warming up and moving your PR faster and with more stability than you can stand up with an empty bar.
@Chop_69
@Chop_69 10 ай бұрын
@gingerayyle I noticed the thing with her knees too and I came to the comments looking for answers because I have seen Dr. Horschig criticize that in other squat videos and knowing Ms. Chanu is elite, I was slightly confused about it. I do see your point but also am still curious about how she would go about fixing it, especially considering she already did all of the warm ups and stretches.

I do alot of these warmups, before work, not my workout. I always warm up with progressively heavier sets into two heavy working sets(always 5-10 heavier then last weeks working sets) But sometimes you get to see an expert at something(with proof I.E Olympian) and not random people at the gym or online. And then your like well if it works for this incredible athlete then I should definitely check it out.

Every time Aaron posts a warm-up, nobody takes him seriously because it takes too long. I don't know who to believe anymore but I find my lifts are better when I mix light weights with the movement with dynamic stretching and core movements. If all you need is the movement itself to warm-up, all the power to you, but I find I can't turn on the right muscles. Sometimes feel my warming up feels excessive, but I believe it is worth it after I am done lifting.
