Great review, thank you. I just bought the Ezra Link bag and I found a couple of issues that may not be a big deal to others. My number 1 is the bag does topple over quite a bit with the soft bottom, even tried moving the weight more forward. My number 2 issue is when I pick up the bag to sling it on my shoulder, the chest strap drags and scratches into the inside of my arm. I think I will remove it. Otherwise it is an awesome bag

Yes unfortunately with the many benefits of soft bottoms, the major drawbacks I see are ground stability and moisture. I definitely think the negatives are worth it, but it is annoying to have it topple over. Keep playing with the weight shift and see if you can find that sweet spot. As for chest straps, I never use them and also find them highly annoying on disc golf bags. I remove them as well since they serve no purpose for me. Thanks for the kind words and enjoy your new bag!

I have it and hate it falls over all the time. The top pockets are also too slick to hold them in there and the foam siding “boards” are super thin and dont support an upright direction and stability very well. For a $200 bag kinda disappointing.

Thanks for the review. I was torn between them, seems like the Link is better for me.

I have the link and I love it. Since I don't carry a ton of discs, I actually just use the top disc pocket for my towel (so I don't have to constantly attach/dethatch it) which actually helps with the tipping over as this makes it a lot less top heavy.

Do the putters in the top slots warp when they get warm in the summer? Check out the bergs bags! V3 and v4 are great! Very similar to the legend but expandable tall side pockets! Great for max storage. If i load it down with just discs a can get abiut 50 with a mixture of putters mids and drivers! Also has 1000d cordura construction!

Have not had any problems with sagging. My buddy uses a berg bag and they hold so many discs! That's way too many for me, but great for people who carry a lot.

Thanks for posting- looking for my first dg bag. FYI- D-Rings are plastic/metal. Those fabric tabs are actually to give you something to grab to make using the zippers easier (straighter pull). You can certainly attach "whatever" but those are not the intended use. #packgeek

Thanks for the great vid. I want to pick up Calvin's 3.0 coming out so bad but as someone who at max carries 18 discs it doesn't seem like it would fit my play.

Everyone wants to carry tons of disc. Me, I only need like 4-5. Then I’m more concerned about snack and drink storage 😅

I personally have more fun throwing a lot of shots trying different lines on different holes. Plus for course practice I like to have several of the same molds to work on certain holes and lines. So it's not uncommon for me to sometimes throw 4 to 6 discs on a single hole as I learn what works best. I usually only play with one friend who enjoys doing the same so it's not like we're holding up other people and when a group does come up on us it's easy to let them play through. When I'm playing a "serious" round and only throwing 1 disc per hole/drive then I could easily drop my bag down to a minimalist bag. 1 putting putter, 1 throwing putter, 1 mid, 2 fairways (1 stable one over stable) and 3 to 6 drivers (1 understable, 1 stable, 1 overstable).

Hi first time viewer, great video and breakdown of how you use the bag and likes/dislikes. +1 sub :). I’m in the market for a new bag. Upgrading from a Infinite Huck Pack I’ve had for about 3 years. My use of the top quiver is starting to show its age and it can be a struggle to access discs from there. As someone who has tried many different bags what quiver style do you enjoy using the most? A more open concept like the Link or something more traditional like the Rufus? I love having my most used discs handy near the top and wonder if the similar Rufus style would be a true upgrade. Also how many discs can you fit in if you max out the space? This would probably be my only bag and I like to take a bunch of discs with me for field work sessions. My current limit is about 23 so I was curious if Rufus/Link could handle any more than that or I should look at something like the Legend. Thanks!

Thanks so much for the kind words and sub! As far as which quiver system I like, that's a toss up because I love the ease of the rebel/link type system that faces you and slides in and out. However, the Rufus has the top load when seems more stable, just doesn't hold as much. If I was making an investment in a good bag that would last for a while, it would be the Rufus Deluxe. The quiver system is still super well made, the inside can hold 15ish discs, the side pockets are fantastic, and it's so durable. I love the Upper Park Rebel and Squatch Link, but I think the Rufus is just a slightly superior bag. The ballistics materials are awesome, but even the regular material is top-notch. Let me know what you decide to get and please let me know if you have any other questions, I would love to help.

@@codywaldron86 Thanks for the reply! That totally makes sense. Still weighing my options and thinking about how I would be using these bags day to day. A Rufus would basically be an amazing upgrade in every way to what I currently have while the Link is completely new case. I checked out your other videos as well, they are good! Keep up the good work :) When I finally make a decision I'll let you know!

Main difference from an Octothorpe is the strap tensioners do not work worth a dang on the Squatch bag. I have to adjust the straps constantly. The putter pocket is so great on a Squatch though it isn;t funny.

Any thoughts on the link vs the Rufus? I’m pretty torn haha. The open style of the link appeals to me but the Rufus seems like a great last forever bag.
@codywaldron86
@codywaldron86 Жыл бұрын
I have had both. If I had to pick one, it would be the Rufus. Like you said, love the open concept of the Link, but the usability and durability of the Rufus is bar none. There are things I like about both bags (Link- ease of disc availability, interior pockets, look; and Rufus- comfortably, durability, and form factor), but if it comes down to one, I'd pick the Rufus 9/10 times.
@sealteamz6
@sealteamz6 Жыл бұрын
@@codywaldron86 thanks! Does the Rufus actually seem more durable? I’m assuming it probably is but I can’t tell by how much since I’m assuming the link is still very durable. Did you find the Rufus quite a bit more comfortable? And is the link noticeably larger? It seems minimally larger based on the specs. I guess I’m trying to figure out if the Rufus deluxe is really worth an extra $100+ bucks haha.

@@sealteamz6 link seems durable from the limited time I've had it, but I have never had a single problem from any pound I've owned. Pounds are so comfortable, best in the business as far as I'm concerned. My next bag will be a deluxe Rufus. The extra pocket, Velcro, and colors seem easily worth it.

Squatch link or upper park rebel? Bag will spend a fair amount of time in a zuca backpack cart
@codywaldron86
@codywaldron86 Жыл бұрын
If in a cart, I think you would be happy with either. The rebels drink holders are kinda side/back oriented so that might make it tough to get your bottle out. That's the only thing I could think of. I think both options will do very well

Hey there just found your channel! Interested in the Link. How would you say it fits/looks on the back? I am a shorter, wider, rounder body type (fat) and don't want a big guy with a tiny bag type situation, ya know?

I'm 6'5 and 240 lbs and I don't think it looks out of place at all. It's not a small bag that will look out of place, just a tad more compact than the Legend. I think it would fit you well!
